Thanks for this vid. You're lovely. *Warm* Hug. 400mg of Seroquel actually saved my life. Taken only at bedtime, I literally began to feel better within 24 hours (I was suicidal!)! It really, really, REALLY worked for me, but I totally understand it may not work for everyone. I have severe PTSD, Dysthymic disorder, BD II, and other personal psychological issues.

Hey! I am so glad Seroquel has helped you, i would say it saved my life too :) I think if i had never taken the meds, the hallucinations would have killed me eventually. I actually have parts of my life back now and can do things normal people do which is awesome :) I for sure think that medication has a purpose when used in the right way :) Its nice to meet you, thank you for commenting and finding my video :)

I’m on 600mg Quetiapine (seroquel) a day. Reduced from 800 to 600 in 2x300mg plus a 40mg paroxatine for bipolar II. It takes a long time to get in your system but it’s ok after a while. The combo works but the side effects are crazy. You eat like hell on it. You get extremely tired. You feel high as a kite. You can sleep for hours. You’ll have weight gain for sure. Low sex drive and your dreams are intense. You must make sure u tell your clinic if you cannot cope on this. It’s not for everyone for sure man.

I started taking this in the mornings and was wrecked all day. Very sleepy and groggy. Definitely take at night!!!!!!

I had to go through the same exact process. It works very similarly for me too, I take it 2 hours before I go to sleep because I have severe insomnia and it helps alot. The only problem I experience is that it is imposible for me to sleep 90% of the time I don't take it. The other 10% is when I am extremely sleep deprived 30+ hours and I can barely sleep for a short amount of time and any noise wakes me up very easily.

I have been told by a psych that Quetiapine is a wonder drug and that it has very few side effects. Then I have also been told that psychiatry is basically best guess. On 850mg I put on 5 stone, slept for 14 hours a day and it interfered with the electrics in my heart meaning I had to be rushed off it. Withdrawal symptoms are awful. I'd recommend regular ECGs at the very least.

Brill video, I have been prescribed quetiapine over the last year and keep coming off them due to weight gain. But after about a month of me not taking them I tried to take my own life. I feel real unfit due to the weight gain but mentally better so it is a catch 22 situation. could I ask you what weight loss tablet your doctor put you on, so that I could ask my phsychiatrist. My diet is really clean, I am vegan and have low fat and sugar but still I pile on the pounds xx I think your very brave filming about your situation, keep healthy, big hugs xxx

Tracy Shaw hi yes the tablets I took were called xenical I took them 4 times a day. I'm going to make a video about when I went onto them and things you have to follow in order to get good results so you might want to look out for that if you do get prescribed any :) good luck!

They added first a neuroleptic and then quetiapine 300. I just Hope lamotrigine 100 + quetiapine 300 will be the good combination Anyone taking this bitherapy / combination.

Hey Jessy ! Ayan here from India ... Great Job with the video, It was really helpul. I have been prescribed Quetiapine by my doctor ... Wanted to know if it has any serious side effects. I am really skeptical about taking the drug .. So ur reply would really help me decide.
@JessyRoseBipolarLife7 жыл бұрын
Hi Ayan from india! Thanks for watching this vid and taking the time to comment. Ive been on Quetiapine now for about 2 and half years if my memory is correct haha! I can honestly say ive noticed no serious side effects, i think its easy to read all the bad things sometimes which can make us fearful. The only side effects that i do get is a dry mouth, drowsiness when i take them at night but thats expected as they are a sedative and also weight gain, i gained a lot of weight and had to take weight loss tablets from my doctor to loose it however im going to do a video on weight gain and how to control eating, eating healthy and good habits to get into. No doctors actually warn you about the weight gain nore give you advice that actually helps! So i will be doing a few videos to tackle that. The way it makes you gain weight is by increased appetite so if you do decide to go onto this drug you just need to be mindful when it comes to food. Quetiapine has really saved my life and also given a lot of my life back to me at the same time, i am very happy on it and it works wonders for me personally! If you do go on it and it dosent work then you always have the choice to try something else :) So i would say give it a go and see how you get on :) Hope this helps! And good luck! - Jessy

I m happy quetiapine works for me very well. I prefer normal quetiapine. how can I get a referral to psychiatrist in the UK within the NHS? I got one for September.... a lot of time to wait and the GPs are awful
@JessyRoseBipolarLife7 жыл бұрын
Heya, you said you already have a referral for september, youll have to wait for it i expect, it does take time unfortunately, but keep your gp informed with any changes etc least itll be on your notes then
@arthurarthur2377 жыл бұрын
Jessy Rose yes. I'm trying to. But those GPs are sometimes rubbish. They don't understand that if you look well it doesn't mean that inside you're smashed. What about psychiatry in the UK? I mean, are they helpful? I haven't tried it here. My Lithuanian Psychiatrist says I have two choices: get back to Vilnius (Lithuania) for medical treatment, get those drugs and go back to the UK or to insist on that referral. you see, I've got schizoaffective disorder and sometimes I think that people judge me whenever I go. So you know, I prefer to stay at home. My situation is miserable, sometimes I want to kill myself, to take my own life, especially in the evening when it gets worse... can we keep in touch? it seems that we are on the same boat, aren't we... and nobody prescribes some Xanax or Clonazepam so I can't really cope. They don't want even to prescribe me some Buspirone. My Lithuanian Psychiatrist used to prescribe me some Xanax or Clonazepam as it helps when it's crisis. I know I can buy some Xanax or Clonazepam online. Have you ever tried those online pharmacies?

Hayley Zion hi this is an old video now but I have bipolar type 2 and psychosis, I’ve been on quetiapine for years and years now, I’m nearly off of them now, weening myself again this summer because lithium has helped me in more ways than other meds could do hoping to rely only on lithium by the end of this year, fingers crossed :) only reason for coming off quetiapine is due to the fact I’ve put on so much weight and it’s decreased my levels of activity and made me very un fit!
