Quick and Easy Russian Salad Recipe

Russian salad is made with diced vegetables and mayonnaise dressing. It is also known as the Olivier salad as the original version was invented by Lucien Olivier. It is an easy and quick salad recipe to prepare for dinner parties at home and can often be found on many restaurant menus. You can prepare this salad along with your regular meals as well or have it any time of the day since it is refreshing and quite filling. Egg can be an optional ingredient here since a lot of people might prefer it while some not.

This salad, though called Russian, but the original recipe is different. Meat is necessarily added there (it can be chicken breast or sausage) and there are usually no apples in the salad, and there are also no pineapples. Cucumbers should be salted, and peas canned. This recipe is more like a Polish salad "jarzynowa"

In different countries this salad modified. I have tasted it in Scandinavian countries it was with fish. Anyway it is everytime delicious

I have eaten this salad almost every day in Greece but now that im in London it's impossible to find at supermarkets, thanks for showing us the recipe. PS Also first time seeing apple included in it.
