Tony Lama Men's Square Toe Boots (Brand in video): amzn.to/2STTrom
Mower Mike’s Tool Store: www.amazon.com/shop/mowermike
This is a quick video to show the best and quickest way to break in your new Cowboy or Cowgirl boots! Just to be clear I mix 1/3 alcohol with 2/3 water.
I have gotten lots of questions about my super cool boots. These are Tony Lama Model 6064 square toe men's boots. They have a leather soul and are pretty sweet. They are not available on Amazon but I did find a model that is very similar at the link below.
Warning! If you buy Tony Lamas you have to listen to "New Tony Lamas" by Darrel Dodd! Is classic, must drink beer while listening!

I LOVE your cowboy boots, Mower Mike!! Lucheese (?) boots stand out to me. I've LOVED cowboy boots since I was little! I have a broken-in brown pair. I wear mine with loose jeans and even shorts!! I LOVE the pattern on the toe of cowboy boots. I think it makes them stand out more. I LOVE how they make me look taller and women notice. I'm 5'10" and I wear size 12. Cowboy boots need their own paid holiday!! :) :) I want a black pair next, maybe with the metal toe taps and heel guards!! Can't wait!!

@@MowerMike I recommend applying leather boot conditioner before polish, because yes, alcohol will dry out the leather. The conditioner replenishes that to a large degree. I'm much more of an engineer than I am a cowboy (I'm not a cowboy at all, actually!), so I don't mean to come across like a know-it-all, but most people don't really take care of their leather goods as well as they should. Wet boots, whether it be just water or the alcohol-infused sprays sold commercially, WILL stretch, but it needs to be conditioned afterward. GREAT video sir, thank you!

Tika that question is out of my league but it I passed it onto my wife who is a pro when it comes to shoes. She has quite the spread. Below is the feedback she had for ya! She can do the same breaking routine with rubbing alcohol and water but spray it inside and outside PLUS put something inside that will spread the ankle wide wide wide like a full 2 liter bottle of coke or milk or even like wood working clamps that she puts inside and pulls them out super wide where they run the worst (side to side or from to back). Then leave them for a day or so and try. After they get right though she needs to put leather oil on to keep them in good shape or the leather will crack afterward.

See my feet are weird. A 12EE is too wide and too short. A 12D is too narrow and too short. Toes at the end of the toe box. A 13D which I wear in everything from lace up steel toes to sneakers and boat shoes fits snug but comfortably. After some breaking in they start to feel loose. Heel slip is my main concern, I still have some after they’ve worn in which feels weird to me. Walking with a purpose they’re perfect and stay right where I want them. When I’m meandering or sitting on a stool/standing my feet feel like they’re sliding forward. I’ve yet to find any boots in a 12.5D so I’m thinking I might need to add a super thin leather insole to take up just a smidgen of space. Or maybe I’m just not used to them yet. Started wearing cowboy boots full time like a year ago around when this video was made. Got a pair of Justin Cowmans, and a month and a half ago got some Ariats. Both fit differently and the Ariats feel the best but idk.

Have you tried a wedge sole/flatter sole boot in a size that you can fit into? I know it sounds stupid, but a lot of the heal slips I have personally felt is with logger style boots. With that said, I have found their are many wedge soles I do NOT like as far as durability goes. Matter of fact, if the wedge sole is not PU or Rubber, they will fade away on you in only 2-3 months.

Rubbing alcohol is the last thing you want on your boots, it dries them out and makes them crack

This will weaken the leather greatly and will reduce the lifespan of your boots dramatically. It works, but that is because you are literally degrading and destroying the leather. Break in is hard, but its necessary. If you have crazy money to burn on boots, then go ahead and throw your money. As for me and my $600 Nicks Boots, a natural break-in is the only way.

That alcohol is absolutely HORRIBLE for the leather though bro.. you'd want to do this with like,... lanolin oil versus alcohol IMHO for sure. And OR ALSO a boot Jack\stretcher while adding oil to the outside of the toe box 🔥🔥

I could never wear cowboy boots. My tootsies are way to wide for those. I break-in my work boots by wearing them until they hurt, then wearing them some more until they stop hurting.
