Toro zero turn. Only blows white smoke when cutting high grass on a hill at an angle turning. Thoughts?

Piston rings are getting worn out. I would make sure it isn’t overfilled with oil. If that is good just run the piss out of it until it eventually loses compression/power

Hello Mr Mike, im a 25 year old i just purchased my own house along with my Zero turn mower, i think the guy got one over on me. i Purchased a "2014 Exmark LazerZ 72" with a Kohler engine model number on the engine is (ECV749) and the model number on the mower its self is (lzs749ekc72rd) PLEASE i really need some help. im in VERY much of a bind im 5.5k into a zero turns and its not running. It will start up and run fine, but shes blowing WHITE smoke like a coal train. I know its burning oil and the oil is low. looking for ANY help you are willing to give. im in major need of assistance i own 2.8 acres of land (in city limits) so i need to get it mowed

Well the engine has worn out piston rings. You can always put in some oil treatment. There is some thick Lucas oil treatment that may help thicken the oil and seal better. Then this winter I would tear down that engine and replace the piston rings and head gasket.

I usually don't care about the splits and will throw a plastic bag on it to sit on most Times i don't id more want it to have springs that actually do work the older outdated mowers i have their seats are really comfortable one is a old sears with the onan engine and the other is a old John deere L110 think ots a 1968 model anyhow its faded seat is comfortable as old as it is good springs in those old ones. My zero turns gray seat arm rest has a terrible sharp piece on its corner scuffed my left elbow and it hurt pretty good i keep the left arm rest up all times then it last year kept dying out in the womans field did on the side of her garage and had to right at a bee nest in the ground something kept burning my ankles and waist i thought maybe my cigarette fire fell off and was burning until i seen it was bee's pouring out next to my right back tire last year i just kept getting nailed by those bee's and on back in her field on the hill then a other time near a washed out spot when the deck arm pin fell out as i was mowing the field's then get home check the cats in the shed and red wasps kept nailing the back of my neck so my neck was hot for awhile so i said alright you mother fuckers and load them with hornet spray they got me 4 times 3 in the neck and 1 in the back there was a big nest inside the door

Most mower blades these days have the label "Grass-side down" on them to make them more idiot-proof. I use my DeWalt 20V lithium impact wrench to remove and reinstall the blade bolts, works like a champ. Torques them down with more than enough force. On high-lift blades that aren't labeled, the curve of the blade should always curve up toward the deck, not toward the grass, as that curvature is what creates the suction force underneath the mower deck.

Super Glue lol. Just slide each part over the bolts against the air cleaner housing and attach the entire assembly. Took like 1 minute. Next time you remove the carb the surface of the plastic is going to leak from super glue removal and take time to resurface it all. Also the original carb is way better. Just unscrew the jet and clean it and put it back in.

I’ve been going down a rabbit hole lately and want out. I’ve been looking at a toro 54 inch max cutter havoc with the “my ride”. I’m ok with the 10 gauge fab deck, and v-twin Kawasaki engine. But what I’m concerned about because I get in the forums and waste my life reading others opinions (ironically I’m asking yours), is that is it really a deal breaker getting the 2200 transmission over the 2800? People say serviceable is better, if I want the 60 inch version of the toro in the havoc with my ride, it is a grand more. Is it worth it to spend more to have something serviceable when it appears you’ve manage to service the unserviceable and done so 10 years after ownership. The 54 inch is 4399 right now on sale and the 60 inch isn’t on sale and is coming in at 5399. I appreciate your time.
@MowerMike
@MowerMike 3 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t think too hard about it. The important part is does it have a comfy seat (I think the toros have that sweet seat on springs) and the Kawasaki is always a bonus. 60in is a huge mower. Unless you are mowing like 5 acres I would go with the 54 and just run it. Those transmissions will probably be good for like 600 hours. Just don’t tow anything with them and you will be fine. That is my two cents, comfort and suspension is number one. If it were me I would go check out the Gravely dealer before you buy anything

Too bad the Cub Cadet name got ruined. When they were invented and manufactured by International Harvester in the early '60's they couldn't be beat. I have two Cub Cadet models 125 and a 104 which were all three made in 1968. I've had them since 1971 and 1972 and I have used the first 125 every year since. Just recently I took it apart, cleaned and painted everything and the only part replaced was the neutral safety switch. When IH went out of business the Cub Cadets were eventually made by MTD and that was the beginning of the end. Seems like MTD and American Yard Products make most of the riding mowers nowadays, paint them different colors, put different names on them and they are all made cheap. My 125 was $1350 without the mower deck in 1968 which in those days was about half the price of a new car but 56 years later it's still in use.

This will weaken the leather greatly and will reduce the lifespan of your boots dramatically. It works, but that is because you are literally degrading and destroying the leather.
