The box says 20 minutes. If you're using developer and the bottles from the beauty supply, 25 min Because you are depositing color into the cuticle. (Beauty School 101. Oxidation is what causes the hair cuticle to open and deposit the color into the hair). The oxidation process stops at about 25 minutes. Keeping the color longer is just keeping the chemicals in your hair which in the long run will dry out your hair. For Bleaching suggestion is 45 min or longer because you are opening the cuticle and lifting various tones from your hair to achieve a certain level.

You can also avoid the sticking of the purple from the purple shampoo by putting the shampoo in a bowl with water and dipping the hair in about 2 times ❤️
