Like you Paul, I've bought loads of Heritage fonts bundles but this designer is a gamechanger for my mirrors, looks so easy. And $15 dollars a month, with 50 projects, no brainer financially. Cheers for this.👍 Went to purchase....Ohh no....Your spot on the waiting list is now reserved......5336 People ahead of you😱

I bought a Heritage Design font and logo bundle about a year ago and really like it, but I'm glad I saw your video and found out about their design app. It actually looks kinda cool.

Thanks Paul! At first I was hesitant at having another monthly subscription cost but it seems, since you can download them as SVG’s, each component can be saved separately and then used to make your own custom designs in PS or AD. Considering the price of the embellishment packages, this seems to be a pretty good bang for your buck!

Unreal demo of the software/program. I have collections of shop signage from the Smithsonian Libraries and many other locations from years ago. I have been considering his other packages and Paul, after watching you do a run through this software.... I'm sold. Though I have adobe, I love Corel Draw to do vinyl work with a bridging program sold here in OZ. I only use Adobe Illustrator as many companies send me files in that or PDF format instead of JPGs or SVG. I found some years ago; "Vector Magic" program converts to many formats, SVG being the one I use. Again thanks for the links to this program and his Font/Layout web page. Be Safe...Ken (Thunder Down Under)

Cheers Ken, glad you found the video helpful. It's such an awesome platform and I think it will get bigger and better over time. The Smithsonian Institute have opened up their whole library online and you can download high res copies of all of it. There's millions of files on there, all searchable by keyword. Endless fun :)

Thanks for demoing as it relates to glasswork Paul! I have been playing with the free version for a month or so just to get the hang of it. Very simple, beautiful, but powerful software. I was wondering about the blank mirror material that you are using for your work. What thickness do you think works best and are there things to watch out for on the mirror coating? As always, thanks for sharing!
@happygilder
@happygilder 2 жыл бұрын
Glad you found it useful! :D I usually work with 4mm thick mirrors, unless it’s a large piece where I’ll go up to 6mm. The main thing to look out for is the age of the backing paint. Old antique mirrors are more difficult to work with because the backing paint is brittle and comes off with the vinyl, making it difficult (and sometimes impossible) to sandblast

Thanks, I’m just using an old LXI master software/ vinyl cutter, can I import this into it or do I need photoshop, etc. Looks like a no, also what’s with the waiting list to buy .. looks like a awesome project

Hi Mark, I've never used LXI software but I don't think you'd need photoshop for anything. I don't know when the subscriptions become available but I just applied for access on the home page and received and email invite a week or so later

Idk, the anyone can do it aspect I don't care for. Technology is making real artist more and more rare. I know I'm a stick in the mud, completely wrong time to be alive for me lol

I completely get where you’re coming from. I’ve been a professional photographer for 17 years and the advancements in technology make it so much easier for anyone to take it up. Same with CGI. When I started that back in 2012 it was so much harder than it is now. Just got to roll with it and adapt 😎

@@happygilder I make dentures for a living, hand set teeth in wax carve sculpt, then process into acrylic. Now they just setup a printer and scanner in my lab. I'm obsolete. As soon as I go full time with signs they will produce the glass chipping gilding machine. Oh well atleast amazon is always hiring
