This video shows how you can easily change the colors used for on and off on controllers with RGB pads, including making them blink
Scripts used:
loop_pad 1 ? color "red" : color "green"
loop_pad 1 ? blink ? color "blue" : color "red" : color "green"
loop_pad 1 ? blink 200ms ? color "blue" : color "red" : color "green"
loop_pad 1 ? blink 500ms ? color "blue" : color "green" : color "green"
loop_pad 1 ? blink 500ms ? color "blue" : color 50% "green" : color "green"
loop_pad 1 ? blink 500ms ? color "blue" : color "black" : color "green"

Wow and wow....thank you soooo much, I am mainly a Traktor user but getting more into Video. I on occosion used VDJ but now getting more into VJ'ing at the request of the manager where I regularly dj. Serato would not recognize my controller and VDJ actually has a template already when I plug it in which I have used for some time but it is not fully set the way I would like things. I am using the Maschine Jam. I recently tried Djay Pro for its video and also neural mix but mapping was waay too basic and not much control over things so....I should have just taken more time with mapping in VDJ. When I tried before mapping in VDJ I had spent time making a mapping and then came back later and nothing was saved...so seeing this video esp the changing of the lights is super helpful and the blinking for indicating things and different pages - super informative. Many many great and wondrous thanks...

Hello. very interesting these settings. but I also have a little confusion and maybe you can help me. for the hotcue led, I want to make the settings in the following way.... when a certain hotcue is selected, it will flash 1 or 2 or 3 blink. but exactly when hotcue 1 is selected to work, the others stay on. and the same for each selected cue, the selected one should flash and the others should be on. thank you. update: I finally succeeded. I'll leave you here and why you are interested. but be careful auto-dim must be disabled. and when you copy in color you just have to name cues 1, 2, 3 and so on hot_cue 1 ? cue_select 1 ? blink ? cue_color 1 : : hot_cue 1 ? cue_color 1

Does this work on older controllers like the pioneer ddj SR? not the sr2 but the original SR...they come with blue light up pads

Only partly since for instance SR doesn't have RGB pads in it. So you can't set it to a color it physically can't use. If you do, you will get the wrong color or no color at all

One you have made yourself? It'll be in a file under the document/virtualdj folder, which you can simply copy and paste

📍Dropping in to ask a real hard AF question not answered on any VDJ forum. I've got the rane one, and as you know I've got 5 Pad pages (5 Buttons above my 8 pads). Is there a way to show on the skin 5 Page tabs instead of the standard 4 page buttons? I've not found a skin that has this feature and would love to have you show how to; Modify stock skin w/ a 5 page button visual on the stock skin.

I doubt there is a 5 pad pages skin - I've never seen it. I always use the mode where a drop down is shown in the pads section - not the mode with the 4 "buttons" (really just squares). I assume that is the mode you are talking about?

I think it has bow been built into VDJ with the latest early access release (build 6767) From the release notes: "Fix pad page menu not showing 5 pages for some controllers with 5 pad page buttons"

Can i i change the colours on hotcues??

Sure You can do it on the individual tracks if you like. The pads then read that You can also do it dynamically using script Or you can simply overrule the pad colors in the pad page editor, a lot like shown in this video for loops
