Quick Release Ladder Lacing Tutorial - Professor Shoelace

Күн бұрынHow to lace shoes with “Quick Release Ladder Lacing”, which looks similar to “Ladder Lacing” but is MUCH quicker to remove. After a couple of simple steps to unlock the top of the lacing, the remainder bursts open almost instantly. Ideal for tall military boots, hiking boots and even high-top sneakers with many rows of eyelets.

ProfessorShoelace yea and I just combined the Ian secure knot with the quick release ladder lacing method it’s the best it’s very secure but it looks amazing so once again thank you plus the Ian knot was the only only way I chouled get my daughter and son to tie there shoelaces finally I don’t have to tie there shoe laces thank god both my kids are ocd with there shoes so the straight bar lacing works so well for that clean simple look thanks for the impact you have had on my life I appreciate it keep up the good work

Wow, It is so great you have dedicated your whole life to shoelaces! You have really helped me and my fellow seamen, you see I am trained in gorilla navy outfits. We have so many laces to do. Daily. seven to be exact. Seven laces to be tied, among even 15 or so eyelet pairs, by men. I bought a gun. I haven't felt so good after I was fired from my job at Spotlight.

I spent most of my live wearing velcro/slip on shoes. Think of shoes like Crocs or those old fashioned Vans but I would only buy the knock off brand. You know... the Dunlop Volleys. Thanks again. Now I tie my shoes by myself no matter the number of pairs of eyelets. Thanks. I love a leatherman in Dunlop Volleys.

g’day ian! your videos are great and your personal site is a lovely relic from the “old internet” era, lol! i just came from a google search on how to do the corset lacing method, and your diagrams and methods are amazing and easy to follow. I especially love your “equality knot”- as a young woman who is part of the LGBTQ community, it is heartwarming to know that even the ‘Professor Shoelace’ supports us and our fight for marriage equality everywhere :)

How would you do this on the Ultraboost Light (4 eyelets)?

It is possible, though kind of pointless on so few eyelets. It would end up with only two “quick-release” rows.

@@ProfShoelace How would I modify your technique for doing this? I tried doing it but I wasn't able to leave 2 rows at the top, so it seemed to me like there is a 5 eyelet minimum.

For four rows of eyelets, only the bottom two rows are straight-laced, as seen in the technique for “Straight Bar Lacing”: www.fieggen.com/shoelace/straightbarlacing.htm The result is only a single quick-release row. As I said, it's kind of pointless.

How does this method affect over pronation, flat feet, or high arches? Can it modified with loops or ankle locks? Skates I had originally came criss cross and comfy. I did my favorite, bar lacing and now having some issues. Before I go with the original with maybe ankle locks, i love how yours looks.

Report: day 1 for someone with flat feet, this style is very comfy as is. You're able to modify how tight it is on the ankle having 2 or 3 high loops , on in my case hooks to criss cross around the ankle. Going take it to the rink in the morning

No sweat, I hadn't taken offense - it was more a comment that people nowadays seem to assign hidden meanings to things like shoelace colors, when the real reason for a color choice might simply be because it looks cool!

Usually it’s with doc martens shoes specifically though, so I was just playing around haha. I do appreciate the video very much!!! There is NO shortcut trick over perfect Paratroopers knot. You better known the difference between real ladder knot and the quick release ladder knot.
