Thanks so much for this tutorial. I love the Solar Auxillia models. I have decided to use them as a base for my 40k IG regiment. Tanks, backed up by "harsh environment " troops using ancient gear.

I think there's gonna be a decent chunk of 40k armies with the bucket heads charging around! They look the part, and the hazardous environment gear is pretty cool.

@SonicSledgehammerStudio I absolutely agree. Loving the Solar Auxillia tanks as well. They fit the "Krieg, Vostroyan" vibe perfectly IMHO.

Really cool scheme, I'm a bit thrown as my Solar have Teal undersuits and grey armour so they're the inverse!

This chap seems got out straight from an old Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers comic, really a retro sci-fi vibe. Now that someone has started to make Helldivers ' minis could be interesting confront them with other ranges, also if I always hope for some plastic sprues of them.

Some of those new Warpaints Fanatic hues look awesome! From what I see here they tend to have much better coverage and "workability" than what I'm used to with APs former colour ranges - would you agree? Also: Is it still kind of mandatory to squeeze out 1-3 ml of pure medium (or whatever :) ) out of each and every new bottle before you shake them up? Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful (supposed) last cold day of good old german "spring" :)

The coverage on the Fanatic range that I've had a play with so far is just *vastly* improved. Oak Brown in particular is a real stand-out improvement. I didn't bother with getting rid of the top few drops of medium from each bottle; the agitators already in them means after a good shake, they're ready to go.

How do you think the Solar Auxilia models would look with gas mask brodie helmets heads?

I have to admit, I like the bucket head diving helmets, so I'm probably not the person to ask. If you think it'd look cool, it can't hurt to give it a shot.

Overall, how are you finding the new Fanatics vs Vallejo/Citadel? I'm only asking as your painting style is more down to earth and achievable (which is what i strive to do).

I'm honestly really liking them. I've mentioned elsewhere that they do have a slightly different consistency and medium to them, so they're a little more 'resinous' off the brush, but they're a vast improvement over the original range. I still quite happily bounce around between manufacturers for the right tool for the job, to put it simply, but the Fanatic stuff isn't so clearly a *third* choice after Vallejo and Citadel now. I'm a lot more confident in recommending them to newcomers who want a simple paint set, for example.

This looks great! I especially love the that teal armor 👍Pharoe Guard looks like a great colour. How bright is it compared to angel green? I have considered using to highlight my dark angels to give them a "tealy" hint, but not sure wethwr to go for temple gate teal or pharoe guard.

It's quite a lot lighter than Angel Green, but if you wanted to use something closer to the Dark Angels look, the Temple Gate one would probably look quite good.
