Thanks Dave, always appreciate your Resolve tips. Agreed on the chart - doesn't usually work well for shot matching except perhaps as a first step.

Thanks! Sometimes I think I go a little too "random" and that hurts me with YT's algo.

I was wondering why my Resolve 16 clips weren't matching the way they do in "Shot Match to the clip" part of the Color Grading lesson on the Davinci website...which was taught using R15. Well now they do. Thank-you. Great tip!

Thanks Dave. This really made a difference for me when trying to match a GH5 to a Panasonic PX 270.

I think that the "Auto Shot Match" if it gets too good - people will be bringing in frame grabs from movies/TV shows and matching the grades. That would be cool for some but not for others.

Thanks for doing this!😊 Does your course teach how to get Canon skin tones with Sony footage when you don't have Canon footage of the same scene to which you could match the Sony? Or would one need to set up a Canon camera along side the Sony in each shot to get the best results? I'm asking because I just ordered an a6400, but I don't have any video capable Canon DSLR.

My course is about matching two different cameras, it is not about getting the Canon look with just one Sony camera, sorry.

I haven't made one in 2020 yet, I am sure I will make one, just waiting for a camera to come out that I am interested in.

@@DaveDugdaleColorado Well if there's any chance you'd like to explore this topic a bit further - I'm trying to figure out how to do color matching on a frame-by-frame basis. I have some video of a talking head recorded on an iPhone in a fixed positions, so basically the only thing that moves is the speaker's mouth. However the phone seems to be constantly adjusting exposure / saturation / color balance so it sometimes looks terrible. I can manually fix sections, but I was wondering if there was any way to apply what you talk about in this video on a frame-by-frame basis, based on one "good" reference frame. Regardless of whether you respond or not, thanks for the helpful video that you already did!
