It’s just magical. The way the detail ties in the looseness but doesn’t distort it…. As a control oriented beginner it’s hard to be this loose but I am captivated and must push forward 😂❤!

@@niazhannanwatercolorsi find that “relaxing” my “focal” or constantly thinking part of the brain and then let the images in my head come out through peripherals so to speak.... that is usually when the looseness starts to happen and after years and years it just becomes second nature.... amazing painting by the way... You could have called it at like 1 minute into the line drawing and it still would have been ace! 👌

Just about to start watercolour, it will actually be my first time using paint at all, I have been using pastels for a while. I'm a woodworker and I've just made a pallete and have given myself 6 Wells, I could split them into 12 but I want to learn with the minimum first. For an absolute beginner with 6 Wells which colours do you recommend? I will be attempting Street work like yours thanks to your demos and inspiration but I'll also be doing landscapes. Thanks in advance for any help, if my palette works out well I'll send you one to say thanks for the confidence you have given me without even lifting a brush yet, thanks again

I am very impressed when I see you paint! No mistakes no or very few reworks , it looks quite easy , but it’s not it is an illusion to think one can paint with such ease within weeks or months. When I watch, I’m wondering how you think and perceive while dabbing along with confidence. What is missing for me is some moderation or outload thinking, some what like the famous and late Bob Ross. Of course in your own manor. Just to understand the path of progress. I’m starting and it’s, it’s like a blind man picking flowers for a bouquet 💐 in a meadow.

Avoid too much layer on layer. Pick the right color for the area the first time. Watercolor tend to get gritty when you do layer on layer.

Gorgeous work! You are quite the master of perspective. I have much to learn from you. Quick question: is that a Royal Talens sketchbook that you’re working in? I have one similar but it doesn’t seem to like watercolor very much. Just curious how you’re able to achieve your washes and color layering without the paper getting torn up like mine 😅
