You spray the cleaner first usually cause it the wheels wet and you apply the cleaner it’s gonna make the cleaner dilute into the water rather than full strength onto the wheel but both methods work

Thats not a wheel cleaner at all, its a fall out remover that will react with the iron particles from brake dust

The thing about iron removers is that people use them willy nilly on wheels and wheels cleaners all the time. Yet they forget that the brake rotors are literally iron and yoi are slowly causing pitting and excessive corrosion because you want it to "look purple"

Actually, it's not rust and it's not melting it. It's chemically reacting to the iron in the brake dust and braking it down to remove it from the rim (and changing color helps signify the process's occurance.)

I personally would’ve applied the first coat of wheel cleaner. Let it dwell, then rinse it. Then use agitation on the second coating of wheel cleaner. That way any of the loose dirt the first coat loosened won’t be rubbed across the wheel. Yes, I’m sure the wheel cleaner “emulsified” dirt, but it eases my mind to know that I’m not rubbing a dirt/brake dust filled brush against my wheels

Clear coated doesn't mean it's bulletproof. Just like car paint the clear coat will get swirls and the finish will end up looking dull and hazy. What he suggests is common practice for your cars paint, why would the wheels be any different?

A few years back I bought a used Ford expedition that was in pretty good shape all except the rims. I tried just using regular products to clean the wheels and they did not come clean at all. Since I don't drive it all the time I haven't messed with the rims since. After seeing all these KZfaq videos and talking to some of the people who make the products I'm looking forward to testing these out for myself if spring ever stays around long enough for me to drag out the hose. Even if it didn't come off as easy as it had in this video as long as it works with a little scrubbing I can live with that. It's almost like it's part of the wheel now. I was going to go to the complete opposite end of the spectrum as far as dealing with it. I was going to throw them into my blast cabinet and then repaint them. I'm willing to give this product a chance to save me from all that work.

Oven cleaner worked great on mine ...Stays a bit longer because it foams up, just sprayed and spread it evenly waited a few minutes and rinsed it off. Did a nice job about the same as this stuff.

It’s brake caliper dust, soap and water does work but over time it can buildup and that’s when you usually need a cleaner like this

... dont do this. Use a degreaser first, let it soak for a minute or two. Blast that off. Then do this. Clean as much of the dirt off before you got in with your brushes, else you end up damaging your wheels with scratches

For brake dust (lung cancer caused by it), I use Soilove, available in small containers at 0.99 stores for a buck or by the gallon. Will do your work easier and cheaper

The clean rims have simply been sprayed with something water soluble that washes off easy... NEVER forget folks, if it looks to good to be true then you would be correct! 👍🏼😃

Actually this product works by creating a chemical reaction with the brake dust, so if you spray your wheels first the water in between the wheel and the product will stop it from working as well. Think of this as a more effective pre rinse

Never rub in an iron solution. Rinse off and use a foam coat to loosen the dirt with a detail brush!

Literally any cheap wheel cleaner works like this. Spray the tires face as well and run a brush over it, hose everything off and throw some tire shine on it.

I've used something similar called red7 and it stinks like shit, I prefer to wash with left over suds as some/most wheel cleaners dull alloy wheels over time
