Grew up with Quiet Riot. Metal Health is a masterful album. What a bunch of intelligent blokes. Miss the early/mid 80s.

Only 8 years had passed before this interview in 1983, nothing at all since 1975, when the then young guitarist, future guitar virtuoso composer Randy Rhoаds auditioned and took vocalist Kevin DuBrow into his unknown band. And now this is a super rock band at the top of the world's music chats. But unfortunately without my super guitarist. A very sad and tragic life story of guitar rock icon Randy Rhoаds. We remember those heroes of the rock scene of the 70s --- 90s - Randy Rhoаds, Kevin DuBrow and Frankie Banali, who are no longer with us (real rock icons, how long ago it was), but their group Quiet Riot and music 🎶 for centuries and gives inspiration and energizes.

I’ve met a ton of bands. I met the metal health lineup numerous times between 97-2000. They were by far the coolest down to earth guys. Them and Night Ranger.

Yes, Rob, I met them several times during that same period..really cool guys. All of them. I actually was hanging out with Rudy and Carlos before a club show..(when I say hanging out, I mean we sat around in the club talking for some time. Coolest guys. In fact to this day, my favorite metal guitarist is still Carlos Cavazo. I met Cinderella, they were really cool as well.

joe b I met Jeff from Cinderella. He immediately started going off about Tom Keifer never wanting to keep touring and get keep the ball. I’m like ok.....

@@fatalvision2 Weird, I read an article where he blames his alcoholism and not being able to go out of the house without a drink on the demise of Cinderella. He literally blamed himself. I guess Tom even paid to help him get better..It's too bad. They had some great stuff. Even Still Climbing from the early 90's was a great hard rocking album. Greatest power ballad, "Through the Rain" is on that album.

joe b I think what I took away from it was he wanted to do Cinderella full time and never stop where as Tom doesn’t.

@@fatalvision2 interesting. My dad went to Tennessee last summer and he was at a restaurant and the waitress told my dad that they had a few famous people that worked there. She told him that the guitar player from Cinderella Jeff labar is one of the chefs. So my dad knows how much I love Cinderella ask to meet him and he came out and talked to my dad and got a picture with him and an autograph. That's pretty cool.

cm: Nonsense. Metal Health was crap compared to other metal albums out at that time. Iron Maiden's Piece of Mind for one. Diary of a Madman, for another. Thin Lizzy's Thunder and Lightning.

He was brutally honest and at that time the “special needs” groups were just forming and couldn’t get a grip. Today opinion or what he said wouldn’t be nearly as scrutinized. People say and do a lot worse now. One of the best live singers of his time.

Kevin had it to become a pioneer in 80's pop metal and make it big in the music business. The interview here portrays him as he had been which is a fun loving musician and not a deep thinker and that is just fine. His brother Terry was the family academic professional. Terry's show is very cool and he seems to be a funny nice person it the show. Very genuine.

Classic case of "given the keys to the city" and your ego ruins it all. They took 10 years to make it and once they did Dubrow's mouth ruined it all in one year. Their massive, quick success went right to his head and he started to insult other bands; he does it right here in this video. So much so that they were over by the 2nd record.

Kevin knew that and admitted it was his mouth. Then they released Alive and Well followed by Guilty Pleasures. Good Stuff.

ModSquad 60s Quiet Riot was really lucky to even to be a flash in the pan: they gained notoriety by a cover song (Slade), and their follow up was a weak carbon copy of the debut.

As someone who is a fan of both bands (and maybe too obsessed with them) no, although they have a mixture of high pitch and growl, they both still have a distinctual sound within their vocals, Kevin sounding more like a maniac, while blackie just sounds like he's got anger issues.. atleast that's how I think..

This fucking group deserves so much better than their relative anonymity. The joke has lasted long enough, even the Twisted Sisters have tasted the joys of recognition. So damn it, this band (and its many incarnations) must be held at the pinnacle of our love and respect for service to the noble cause of glam metal and all its derivatives. First class musicians built this pyramid and the 2022 monument is impressive to say the least. Imagine a new album with Jizzy and the future will be paved with gold. Thanks to those who fell and glory to those who raise the stele again.

While I agree with most of what You said, but Jizzy isn't the answer. He's a journeyman. Kinda like a career backup quarterback.
