Quiet Riot paved the way for legitimate head banging metal again. It's ashame that they only got a famed one album before the industry shut them out. *Condition Critical* only went Platinum after their debut went 8x Platinum.

Yeah, they were a great band. Unfortunately, the music industry works that way and it SUCKS, but it is what it is. Kevin Dubrow was an amazing singer 🤙

That's not exactly true. Dubrow didn't help himself talking shit about other bands all the time, but I guarantee you a money driven record company isn't going to purposely sabotage what they perceive as a cash cow and just black ball them over grade school level drama/shit talking coming from Kevin. They still released two more albums after Condition Critical from their record label, it wasn't liked they immediately dropped them to say "f*ck you" to Kevin. The reality was the band self imploded, they kicked Dubrow out, made one pretty awful album with another singer, and then the grunge rock revolution pretty much put a nail in whatever mainstream success the band may have had left in them.

@@jeffjackson9679 Good points from what I remember Condition Critical only had one really good song..and then later QR3 only had one good song. Actually, let me put it another way, most people only knew of one song from those albums, maybe every single song on both albums is great but QR didn't resonate with fans as well as other fans. To me they were too silly and back then heavy metal fans took their music serious no room for clowns.

Quiet Riot got dopy and hackier with each successive new albums. Their videos became more and more cartoonish making buffoons of themselves. I'm not trying to knock them. Their debut album is one of rock music's finest moments. Kevin fought back against the music press and many cite that as their demise. I disagree. Quiet Riot destroyed Quiet Riot ...IMO

Interesting to me that MH, CC and III only had two singles released for each album. They are: Cum on.., Bang your head. CC: Mama.., Party... 3: The Wild..., Twilight Hotel.

He seemed mellow here compared some interviews... maybe couldn’t score coke in the area. His career was like his coke habit: two hits and spent the rest of the time chasing the high.

In high school, Kevin would wear some loud clothing ala a celebrity and he never suffered fools. He was arrogant, loud mouthed, had ego in spades and one helluva singing voice so in short - he was already a star. Other students included Jeff Porcaro, his brothers and Steve Lukather. We at Grant High were very lucky listeners!

QR was big for a hot minute. Glad to see after 8 years, Randy and Rudy going to Ozzy, then Rudy returning, Quiet Riot got their due. 1983-Bang Your Head. My favorite records that year: Holy Diver, Bang..., Motley Crue S/T, Iron Maiden Piece... again, glad QR got their success. Bang, 6 million sold, Condition, 2 million, QR3 400,000. Most bands would've sold their Nutz to achieve. Good memories for me. RIP Kevin

One correction, in the sales figures. Metal Health sold 10 million, Condition Critical sold 4 million, and QR3 sold 800,000

@@BoredOuttaMySkullBoi TY for that. I've read various information. I guess MH sold 6 million American copies, according to the RIAA. I have a old rock magazine from 1985, Hit Parader, stating that CC sold 1.25 million. At that time. Probably more nearly 40 years later. QR 3 410,000 according to Carlos in a Guitar World magazine, 1989. I've kept these rock magazines and favorite clipped articles since a kid. Glad to see they've done well. Quiet Riot (Quite Right, according to Slade!) were one of my favorite bands growing up. Now it's not the same. Just Rudy. No Kevin, no Frankie, no band. TY.

@@BoredOuttaMySkullBoi So yes, MH 10 million sold WW. CC sold 4 million WW. QR 3, IDK, just that Carlos said 410k American copies. IDK WW. Carlos is retired from music now. Just playing locally in L.A. from time to time I guess. It'd be great if he rejoined QR with Rudy, but Alex has been in the band for 16 years now. Doubt he'd want to move over. Unless Carlos, Rudy or Chuck do their own version of Quiet Riot, a lineup doing only the 1980's music. Hmm...

@@jiverdude2775 I remember hearing Rudy tout Metal Health as a "worldwide Diamond certified" album on his Instagram, and through some deep diving (I don't remember exactly where) I found Condition Critical sold about 4 million copies worldwide, and QR3 sold about 800,000

@@BoredOuttaMySkullBoi That's good information. I always saw them as a underdog band. They didn't break at the same time as Van Halen. Had to wait 5 long yrs before success. Glad they got it finally.
