Textile Talks features weekly presentations and panel discussions from the International Quilt Museum, the Modern Quilt Guild, Quilt Alliance, San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles, Studio Art Quilt Associates and Surface Design Association. The programs will be held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.
Janneken Smucker, host of the Quilt Alliance’s Running Stitch, A QSOS Podcast, Professor of History at West Chester University, and author of Amish Quilts: Crafting an American Icon will moderate a panel of quilter-writers. Panelists include Meg Cox, Frances O’Roark Dowell, Chawne Kimber, and Gwen Westerman. Panelists will give us a snapshot of the relationship of quilts to writing in their work. Join us to hear this expert panel share personal and professional connections to fiction, non-fiction, poetry, blogging, and writing for and on quilts. This panel will be recorded and featured on our sixth episode of Running Stitch.
Visit quiltalliance.org/ to hear episodes of Running Stitch, the QSOS podcast and learn about the Quilt Alliance and our mission to document, preserve, and share quilt stories.
