Today I focused on the mechanics of creating a texture. I selected wavy lines and pebbles and staggered the designs from very easy to more challenging. I would like to repeat that none of the designs is difficult. However, you have to demonstrate some trust in your skills. And that takes courage.

Fabulous. The first couple big circles surrounded by dense lines reminded me of Mardi gras masks. Looks like such a fun. I shall try tomorrow.

@@quiltingnerdSadly, not yet. I'm in the middle of seed-starting for the garden, contemplating a move/building a house on one of our adjoining lots, etc. The house will have an entire room for my crafts, books, etc, if this comes to fruition. Luxury, though it's still a small humble house, not as small as this one, though. I'm trying to finish my current crochet blanket, almost done now, as one of the choices for a giveaway I'm going to have soon. Getting closer to quilting, though!

Yestertday, I hit a roadblock in my attempt to get back to quilting. I set up my Janome 6500, made sure I had put it away cleaned, began to test it and it would not sew without breaking bobbin thread, getting tangled around the bobbin case, throwing FM Phase Error warnings, etc, and generally making me pull out my hair. I packed it all up so I could get it to the repair guy and I'll sell it after he fixes the problem. It was the same problems I'd been having before I packed her up a few months back. She even has a new bobbin case. I pulled out my Juki HZL G220 again since no one bought it and it sews fine, though it sounds a bit clunky like a Juki and has only an 8" throat space. I'll do some practice sandwiches, then attempt to finish my quilt on that one (not looking forward to tugging it through that throat, though). After the quilt is complete, I think I'll sell that one as well and put quilting away until and unless I get more space in which to do it. Both these machines have given me too much trouble so if I do begin againt, I'll get a better machine. I hate to see the prices at that time, good grief! Does your machine ever give you all these roadblocks? It's really nice one, above my price range for the amount of quilting I do, but it seems like an awesome machine! I appreciate all your wonderful encouragement and the time I know it takes to get our your videos! Your friend in the North Georgia mountains, USA. ~Cynthia

Hi Cynthia, I so understand you! I had such problems with my old Pfaff. It was supposed to be a domestic machine for quilting but it was simply wrong. It took two or three repairs to get it right. I sold it and got me a Janome. Never looked back. Actually, my wonderful husband took my Janome for cleaning. There were some problems like the thread wrapping aroud bobbin and so on. Not all thread and not all bobbins. Let's see. I ordered me some original Janome bobbins to make sure there is no influence of bad quality. And I hope, after cleaning it will work good again. I love this machine! Now I am quilting small projects on a machine with 4 inch throat space....It quilts very nicely but it has only a hopping foot and I do not like it. It slows me down too much. I have to wait till my old one is back. IThere is a new model of Janome so maybe the M7 will get reduced. They do that sometimes. It is worth checking. I will keep my fingers crossed. You need good tools and I think a good sewing machine is cheaper than the mental health therapies and meds. Sending hugs and tons of luck wishes - Gosia@@rootsrocksfeathers1975
