Omg same. It was honestly so sad when I had to postpone it. I’m turning 16 in November so it’ll technically be a sweet 16 but I’m counting it as a quince

i would love to have a quince, but knowing my family can’t afford it makes me feel upset because it’s been my biggest dream since i was 5. I’m 13, but willing to save up for it. I think i can make it happen with a bit of courage and hope :)

I didn’t have a big quince I just had a party in my parents backyard. My mom made birria rice & beans and my tias made the sides like salads, etc. We got a cake for like $100 and rented like 6 tables with some chairs and bought some cheap flowers to put as centerpieces and my dad just plugged Pandora into a speaker but you can always get a DJ etc if it’s in the budget. My dress was a “prom” dress from Dillards

no you can do a small one where you live or at a local park, you can do all of the traditions but it doesn’t have to be expensive!

I had my bf at the time, as my chambelan and we broke up and ended on bad terms so it sucks cuz he’s everywhere now. but yet again, his cousins say he still has the picture of me and him from the day of my quince hung up in his room😳

I am watching this to refresh my memory on what a traditional quince is like because my quince which was almost 4 years ago was more of a small event because that is how I wanted it and didn't want that much attention on myself. However I still wanted to do the ceremony, wear a nice dress, and have a simple party but at my house. I am watching this to prepare on what to expect for my cousin's big quinceanera party coming up in a few months since I am going to be part of her court lol

@Trailer Movies let them invite people. Although it is your party they also have the right to invite their friends and family. As long as you can invite the people you want as well then your good. Just look on the bright side, you’ll be getting more gifts LMA

if you’re worried about the dress being too expensive all you have to do is look in the right place. i went to a place before buying it and only the dress was 1,600, and i kept looking and we found it for 1,200 including everything in the package

Watching this I think back to when I was 15 and my quince and I just think about how me being self-conscious at the time got in the way of me enjoying the experience. I wish I had celebrated it with the friends I have now. Back then I didn't have that many friends, was more awkward and I was not as girly as I am now. It would be way more fun if I celebrate it now that I am 18 compared to back then lol.
