Apologies are accepted and appreciated as we don't want you losing money on these wonderful products, but there's no need to feel guilty about it. Either people are willing to pay that price you need to keep these products in production or they aren't, at which point you will know that it's time to stop selling them. I don't want to pay more, of course, as I've got increasing financial pressures like everyone else, but raising the price by a couple dollars isn't the end of the world and your boards are still excellent values with no direct competition that I'm aware of. Thank you for all that you do.

Dude, I appreciate your desire to keep prices low, but you don't need to ever apologize for price increases the are beyond your control (and they are all beyond your control). It is what it is. The world as a whole doesn't care. Your humility and transparency along the way more than makes up for the price increases and we all greatly appreciate your humility and honesty in the process.

Thank you for all of your time, hard work, and dedication to designing/making these boards and supporting/leading the LED community! DO NOT FEEL BAD ABOUT RAISING PRICES!!! With you boards I'm now able to make an xLiight show for the first time. Which has been a dream of mine for the last 6 years, but the Falcon and Kulp controllers were way out of my price range. $50 compared to $200+ it's a no brainer which board I'm going with. Love and appreciate all you do for LED community. Keep up the good work. We all understand things will have to go up and you have to eat still. Thanks again.

Amazing products! I have both the Uno (multiples of those) and the quad V2, and I thank you for both your hard work and willingness to share with all of us. You have been more than fair with your pricing, in my opinion. And I think I can speak for a lot of us who enjoy working with your boards, paying just a few bucks more is so worth it to A. compensate you for your intellectual property you so freely share, and B. for the continued availability of the boards. Frankly, I'd pay much more than 2 dollars increase to help assist with that availability. Many many thanks! You are responsible for my entire holiday light display. You and Aircookie are incredible people!

I 100% understand the price going up. I work for a company that designs, builds, and repair electronics that we use in our robotics. I help with all those functions including re-speccing parts due to availability and lead time. That has gotten out of hand really really bad lately. We have 40 and 50 week plus lead times on many of the parts we use and have had to make significant redesigns to work around the parts availability, only to find that some of the parts that we switched to are out of stock again by the time the redesign is complete

Quindor, the cost is what it is. We understand and if folks can afford to purchase the board at the lower price, they’ll be able to afford the higher cost. We know this political football called COVID has affected everyone/everything. It sucks because we’re all making less when you factor all these increases. Pass along the cost increases and demand will adjust accordingly. Thanks for making these boards. I bought four over a year ago and happy to say my mom is enjoying her lights right before Christmas. What am I doing wrong with ferrules and these screw terminal blocks. Every time I remove one they pull the metal on the top out with them, I have to bend it back up and shove it in with a tiny screwdriver. Otherwise love my DigUno/Quads!

Hmm, yeah, that's a small down side to these terminals that that can happen, try flattening the ferrules a little bit before they go in, that's what I usually so and then have no issues getting up to 16AWG in there easily with these new terminals.

Ive bought a dig-quad and 4x 5Meter SK6812 5vdc LED strips (300 leds each strip) and they can take up 15.25amps at full brightness. Because these are ip67 strips I don't plan on running them at full amperage because they will likely overheat but would like at least be able to drive them at 10amps each. The dig-quad is fused at 5amps each channel. I can limit the max current in the software to 10 amps but can i replace the 5amp fuses and put 15 amp fuses for protection? What is the max amperage for each channel that this quad board can handle?

We want to install some leds on our boat. We have both 12v and 24v onboard. What would you recommend for QuinLED product for this purpose? 3 different zones some around 30 meters of WLED. Appreciate any guidance!
@IntermitTech
@IntermitTech 2 ай бұрын
Depends a bit as always. The 12v and 24v, is that stable voltage or battery voltage? If the latter that could potentially damage things. Then it depends if you want one controller or multiple. For one you'd be looking at a Dig-Quad or Dig-Octa with wires going to the various strips (and power injections of required). Or maybe you could several Dig-Uno more locally to where the lights will get installed. 30m is long for an LED install so will require a decent plan. Maybe come to the Discord server and watch my power injection video? That should certainly help getting you the right stuff!

SKU for 1meter version is: ws28151m60lb65, but I bought 27m for my project. Actually, I tried many configurations to make them work (several models of esp32, several level shifters including Texas instruments SN74AHCT125N, several resistor values between led strip and data line from level shifter etc. ) and all I get is a flickering led strip.After 2 weeks (each evening) trying and failing I m out if despair, and not sure Wled on an esp32 can make them work. Have these kind of led strips ever been tested on your boards? Would you mind helping me on the right way of wiring the level shifter to make some tests ? I'm very impressed about the great job you do, and your boards are exactly what I need. Many many thanks in advance. Regards, Alex.

Poh, that's a bit too much to go into, it's a whole chain really and certain components are still hard to get (at normal prices). But a new batch will be available really soon!

@@IntermitTech some will hate this... but raise the price! I'd say the quad is worth $75 USD. :)

would it be possible to use 4 of these and create a mega tree?

Sure, one board can already drive about 2000 pixels and if you want to do real-time stuff, do so over Ethernet and it'll work great!

@@IntermitTech So if I had 16, 100 pixel Strings, I could run a pixel Tree off of one o f these? Is nobody doing that? Much less expensive option than pixel controllers or something.

Sure yeah, there is people doing that already, especially with the Ethernet version if you want to use xLights, no problem at all.

No shame on that. Just maybe something for the European and American governments to think about ... not having all the stuff nade ONLY on China. I'm not talking only about components but everything. Some day they'll just start making whatever prices they want, with the conditions they want ... As for your stuff, it's great as usual. Thanks for the great work. Happy New Year 😉

Absolutely! Using either WLED firmware or ESPixelstick firmware and for both the board definitions are included right out of the box in xLights! Get the Ethernet version to make sure there is no lag, especially if you plan on maybe running multiple boards.

Ah no, the QuinLED-ESP32 boards are pre-assembled only but the generic Mini32 ESP32 boards can also work. There is also still a few differences between DIY and pre-assembled just to keep the boards DIY friendly.

Pricing is pricing - it is what it is and I’ve bought enough individual project boards from people to know that no matter what you do someone will complain that they can’t afford the new price and if that’s the case then that’s not your problem … you’re not a charity! More of a problem for me is my step kids sniggering at you calling someone or something a dickwad… 🤣
