Like every Fufu, Quinoa Fufu is an entire arm work out! You can skip the gym today. You're welcome. Fufu is a staple in almost every African household. Authentic Fufu is actually made with cassava. However, most people can't eat foods high carbohydrate like cassava. Hence the reason alternate ingredients (like Quinoa Flour) for making Fufu exist. Fufu should be eaten with a soup. I see some people online eaten Fufu by itself and making faces. Of course you won't enjoy it without a soup. It's like eating cooked flour without some salt, sweetener, or anything. Please understand the meal before making it. Also, you eat Fufu with your fingers (Right hand). Make sure you wash them thoroughly before eating. If you're interested I could show you how to make a lot of other African Fufu and Soups. Trust me, I've made and eaten a lot of different types.
Alkaline Vegan Egusi Substitute Ingredients:
Remember, you saw this here first. This is a recipe I created after lots of trials.
- Use dried mixed mushroom powder (2 Tablespoons or more) in place of Bouillon Cubes
- Annatto Oil in place of Palm oil. Check out my video here: • ANNATTO OIL Recipe - A...
- Add some coconut Aminos (3 Tablespoons) to Compliment the dried mushroom powder
- Use any Alkaline approved greens
- You can use Egusi seeds because they're actually seeds from a melon or you could use seeds from any melon of your choice if you can find it i.e.

I actually made this quinoa version the other day (before I found you) with fish tea soup (no fish, just used sea weed to get the sea taste). My husbands people call it fungee (ususally made with cornmeal and okra). I did not do the extra stirring and folding. I am going to to that this time around. Its amazing to see how much of West Africa came across the Atlantic with us. I love your chanel. I needed vegan food from my roots.

Brown millet fufu is Africa's heritage food before transcontinental trade that brought yams, bananas, corn, potatoes, etc to Africa. In Africa people used to eat millets & sorghum with local greens & vegetables, meats & fishes, fruits, insects, & worms. There was no plant oils at that time, only animal fats, ghee and milk. There were zero overweight & obesity. Daily exercises like collecting water from springs, collecting firewood, planting food & harvesting, herding livestock, building & thatching huts, making pottery & usable crafts, smithing spears, etc, and raising children, no vaccines either. No cars, horses, donkeys, reindeers, or camels either, everyone walked and there was no large items to carry. People only carried what they could lift, small items like a spear, pottery, food, animal hides & fur. Therefore there was no "furniture", people sat & slept on mats, hides, fur, or dry grass hay. Boats were built on location near fishing lakes, rivers, or ocean. No one carried boats inland. Inland trade was carried out through the exchange of knowledge & skills trades or plant seed exchange. People wore animal skins, fur, feathers, tree-barke clothes & plant weaves. For 100,000s of years Africans lived like that and it worked. They did surgeries as well in cases of emergencies like C-sections, broken bones, torn flesh by using local alcohol brews to intoxicate the patient & hold her/him down and cut into the flesh & used thorns to suture/close the wound. Herbs and more alcohol for the patient until healing. Fast forward to today, and Africans live & eat differently. Yes, they live in modern nice houses with running water, cooking gas, electricity & internet. But they are overweight and obese, diabetic, high blood pressure, cancers, etc. No one lives like the ancestors anymore, not even in village mud/grass huts. That ancient way of living has been lost forever. All we need is to drop ALL oils from our foods and the people will shrink to a lower weight and eliminate diabetes & high blood pressure. Just a thought.

Fufu has a tart and sour taste. What does it taste like using quinoa; Is it bitter?🤔 The texture looks like polenta, not a bad idea. I love it even, but would the recipe be closer if you used burro bananas?
@Grubanny
@Grubanny 2 жыл бұрын
Fufu or "Swallow" can be used as general names for foods like this. Just like pastries can be used for some baked goods. Of course there's the actual Fufu made from casava. This Quinoa version is bland... it mimics a type of "Fufu" called Semovita or another one called Tuwon Masara, or Oatmeal Fufu or... I can talk about different types all day, but I'm sure you get the gist. Yes, burro bananas can be used as an alternative to the actual Fufu made from casava, but that's a video for another time. The glycemic index is similar to that of Quinoa, so that's also a good option 👍🏿 Not sure if you read the comment at the beginning. I was just showing someone with a health condition an alternative to Pounded Yam, which is a bland fufu as well. Don't worry, there's a method to my madness 😜

@@jeagerengaurd2917 of course you can. Just make sure you wash and toast the Quinoa before making the flour. That should get rid of the bitterness. Watch this video if you haven't: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gp2cfq9iuprLlGw.html
