You are oppossing polygamy and short term marriage without citing any verse that actually say that I think it is more about you think them to be wrong or immoral rather the Quran actually says that We get the moral standards from the Quran not the opposite You can say I personally feel they are wrong but you can't say that in the Quran/objectivly it is wrong Infact I see Quran deal with like a normal thing you don't need exaggerate in it while Quran doesn't actually show it that way

freeing servant? what surah is that, and as for a tips maybe u could always say the surah and the verse before reciting it, making it easier for us to search it, and about the servant translation, is that really talking about freeing slave? or maybe speaking about a child to their guardian, so the guardian should free their child and not forbid them of marriage to marry and should support them if they is honest

Peace - in the following verse it references a solemn pledge [4:21] How could you take it back, after you have been intimate with each other, and they had taken from you a solemn pledge?

and where do you find that God looks down on divorce? just curious

Peace - God commands us throughout the Quran to maintain our oaths, when a couple divorces they are breaking the oaths that they vowed to maintain. Additionally, God puts in many formalities that must be fulfilled prior to finalizing a divorce. I believe this is as an encouragement to keep the couple together. [16:91] You shall fulfill your covenant with GOD when you make such a covenant. You shall not violate the oaths after swearing (by God) to carry them out, for you have made GOD a guarantor for you. GOD knows everything you do. [16:92] Do not be like the knitter who unravels her strong knitting into piles of flimsy yarn. This is your example if you abuse the oaths to take advantage of one another. Whether one group is larger than the other, GOD thus puts you to the test. He will surely show you on the Day of Resurrection everything you had disputed. [4:128] If a woman senses oppression or desertion from her husband, the couple shall try to reconcile their differences, FOR CONCILIATION IS BEST FOR THEM. Selfishness is a human trait, and if you do good and lead a righteous life, GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.

I would respectfully challenge that view. Our oath with God is in the Quran (1:5). Whereas marriage is a contract between a man and woman. You say at 10:00 that God creates an exit when you are in difficulty so why would He allow something that He does not approve of. He says in the Quran that whilst Mohammed is shy in saying something that is difficult, He is not (this is paraphrasing but that’s the gist). I agree that He doesn’t make it simple and easy to divorce, given all the steps one has to go through and the conduct expected (particularly when there is more than likely a disagreement between the two parties). But I wouldn’t infer disapproval. If anything, this is a contract that requires great consideration.

@@QuranTalk 2:195 " and do not cast yourselves into destruction with your own hands;" If, in a marriage, one spouse hits, swears and accuses the other, calling degrading names, dismissed, insults the other... over years and years, there is more damage in physical and mental state- not only to the other spouse, but the children affected as well. If all ways we have tried to bring peace, but to no avail... divorce is better.
