In this stellar episode with former R&AW Chief Vikram Sood, he talks about the evolution of RAW from the intelligence bureau, the gathering of information on adversaries, the 1962 Chinese invasion, and the 1965 Pakistani invasion. It was a true pleasure to host him on AJIO Presents The Ranveer Show.
We also discuss the formation of RAW, its success in the 1971 war with Pakistan over Bangladesh, and its intelligence operations in Bangladesh.
The conversation also touches on the misconception of RAW by the public, and how RAW only deals with external threats. Hope you enjoy this one.

You heard of Joe Rogan? Maybe in India, sure, but in the world, this kid has no influence and he seems very slow due to his indoctrination with propaganda he is being fed. I guess no one noticed when he said "we will talk about whatever that be shared on INDIAN internet" so definitely the internet is sensored in India. Only shows that they can't or never will really have the whole truth. Nothing is inspiring about talking about stuff leaked on Wiki leaks years ago. India is just getting this news? Basically india will never know about their political issues if censored till maybe 50 years from now? Just like this guy came to "expose" the secrets that was stories of 40 years ago.

This is like a ASMR podcast. You can tell this man is trained in making people feel that a lot of information is being given to them while not actually giving anything at all. The pace at which he talks isn't too slow, but is slow enough to make us feel that this is a proper length podcast while if you take a wordcount of how many words were spoken by him, it would be a lot less than the other guest that come and speak for the same amount of time. Also the ability to force a tangent in a conversation in a direction he wants it to move while not even intending to do so is epic.

It's not a gullible bollywood actor podcast where you talk about shallow things like fame and recognition, It's a serious profession meant to be taken seriously. Sood's point about narratives is totally on point. Great interview. Thanks for a glimpse into the world of nameless people who live their lives for the country. Having said that, what particularly strikes me is when Mr. Sood mentioned all sorts of people join R&AW. Would have been great to understand the underlying motivation of people who choose a life destined to dissolve into oblivion, as like you said, they don't get enough salutes.

Ranveer ...a very good conversation....it would be really great to hear from such professionals about what common citizens could do or rather not do in various areas to help the country in their own little way....We often just think that certain work will b done by certain govt agencies/ organizations but i guess we forget to think about what we need to do as citizens for our country except for voting the right kind of netas.

The appointment of a spy, the way the spies enter the enemy territory, gathering of information etc, The youngsters would be thrilled to know more about the spy world. Thanks

Hi Ranveer bhai, next time you bring Vikram sir or other R&AW officers I’d suggest you ask very specific questions coz they have excellent memories and like going deep….but when asked questions which are more generalistic in nature they tend to give crisp and non-descriptive answers
