Nice playing that's pleasingly melodic and heartfelt. As a guitar composer/performer for book trailers about comics who's looking for inspiration, your teaching inspires since you sound so pretty and get a nice full sound for the harmony. Ideal for Soul!

Excellent lesson Kerry! I am so glad I happened across your channel and I just subscribed. I'm basically a fingerpicker whose is "lead challenged" so to speak and someone who loves the whole idea of playing triads, double stops and such, seeing as how I'll never be a high flying lead/solo player. I like players such as David T Walker and Calvin Curtiss (Rainy Night In Georgia). Thanks again Kerry!

This was a great recipe ,a few runs a few chords and add feel to the context of the song .... Perfect. My only criticism is no amp or pedal settings ,mentioned. Where ever ,one, is in their guitar journey, we all feel MORE successful ,when we can come near to the sound we are trying to mimic. I know what a Paul Reed guitar sounds like, I can distinguish it, then the amp settings ? Reverb ,delay, Tremelo there was something on it , not just clean......but ? Thank you again for another Smooth lesson !

No the maj7 4 to the minor 4 makes it D major based on the chord structure. So chord stucture is 1-b7-4-4, intro 1-b7-4-m4,chords 6-5add9-5add9-1bridge.
@donaldwright6191
@donaldwright6191 3 жыл бұрын
@@demondrerandolph2021 So you're saying the chords are rooted on D string? That's apples to oranges when talking about the root note of song vs the root note of the chords.

It’s true that D C G could be V IV I in the key of G. The only way you can tell for sure is the melody. The high single-note lick is a big clue.

No big deal Kerry, but I just sent you a comment a few minutes ago and realized that I mentioned the wrong name of the guitarist I referenced. It is "Cornell Dupree" who plays those awesome guitar parts in Brook Benton's cover of --- "Rainy Night In Georgia." Again, no big deal. I just thought I'd clarify it. Thanks.
