He is Australian. He donated 1173 before reaching the donor age limit of 81. He donated mostly plasma which can be done every two weeks. This explains why he was able to donate so much more than suggested above. The maximum donation is over 800ml but I can’t find more detail. Assuming each of his 1173 donations was 800ml his lifetime total would be 938.4 L. 1000L is one ton of water is one cubic metre. Isn’t metric beautiful. So for Americans this is over double the volume of a large modern fridge. Last time I donated it was 824mL which was for clinical use and that was lower than usual, I think normally 860mL. Of course I’m not sure of donation volumes and frequencies going back to the fifties so I’m not exactly sure. Of this figure. For his efforts he received the Order of Australia Medal. (OAM) which is like a knighthood in the UK and idk what in the US.

I also remember in that episode of Tom & Jerry, he hatches from an egg right next to Tom instead of his actual momma. Towards the end, despite all of Jerry's warnings, he learns Tom *isn't* his momma, he becomes suicidal, realizing he was meant to be food to his not-momma. He goes overt to a boiling pot, while Tom watches him say, 'Goodbye momma, Istill love you." He plugs his nose (?), jumps in, and... Tom catches him, having morality sweep over him, complete with a tearful 'NO!!' The episode ends with Tom pretending to be a duck for the duckling, and it ends on a high note.
