Oh my God, please take me back to 1991 so I can leave the distopian nightmare society has become. Not saying there weren't problems then, but now its as if they are 100 x worse.

Michael Stipe has a great voice and writes lyrics with the best of them. But I enjoy his stage presence more than anything. Too cool. Also the mandolin.

It only took 3 chords and the crowd went wild...they knew exactly what was coming ...it was definitely my favorite song back then.

"Beam me back Scotty" Back to the 70-80's concerts I so enjoyed watching, when men were men and music was REAL... Nothing better than loading my running crew up in my hippie van with blaring 8 track playing the band we were on our way to watch live. A era where people actually cared about one another and enjoyed life.

I left the UK for Bangkok in 1991, this song was played in every pub, club and bar during my first few years there. Brings back some great memories.
