11:09 As a 3D asset artist, can confirm, shadows are actually one of the hardest things to render. You know that raytrace makes things shiny, right? Well, raytracing is also used to calculate depth and shadow. But a number of things can go wrong, for eg, if you have a shadow map that you baked (basically means you created a shadow map) but then you updated your 3d model, then the shadow will still be that of the unchanged model. 11:17 There are other things like this tree, where the shadow showed up as a square block, means that the initial shape of the tree was just a plane (slice of paper). So then by using a black and white "alpha" map, we generated a tree shape from that block and hence only the shape of the tree was seen and the rest part of the block was not visible. But raytrace needs to be told that we have an alpha map, in order for it to generate a shadow that will have the same shape as the tree. If you don't do that, you'd get a block for a shadow, despite having a pretty nice looking tree.

True Story: This happened to me back in the mid 1980's before caller ID. My parents left to go pick up a large fried chicken order we had catered for a family reunion. About five minutes after they left the house the phone rang. The person on the phone asked... "Was that fired chicken for the family reunion order going to be picked up or delivered?" He read off exactly what was being ordered. And I confirmed it. Then I said my parents were picking it up and had just left. The person on the phone then yells to someone else... "Hey, that Johnson Family reunion order is being picked up not delivered." I then interrupted..."Wait a minute... we're not the Johnson family." Guess what? It turns out this person had...the wrong number, called the wrong family, worked in the wrong catering restaurant, had the wrong date and time of the reunion, and lived in the wrong city, but the order was identical right down to some extra menu items we ordered.

I have a story on how me and my friend broke the matrix. So just remember that we had 41 chairs, 40 for the entire class and an extra 1. We decided to stack **13** chairs, then we sat on it. We were told to put it back and we did, but suddenly there was 14 chairs when we took it down. We counted and counted but now there were 42 chairs in our class.

8:04 This is in Vienna, in the garden of the Schönbrunn Palace. The whole place is absolutely crazy. Every tree, bush, the flowerbeds and the grass are absolutely perfect. In most places where you have gravel paths right next to grass, there's usually a bunch of gravel on the grass where the two meet, but in this garden you won't find a single piece of gravel on the grass. The boundary where they meet are perfect, everywhere. The level of attention to detail is nuts.

It's probably because of the rolling shutter used in most phone cameras. It doesn't take the picture instantly, but it takes a few milliseconds for it to take a picture of the whole thing, starting from one side and moving to another. The precision needed is really high for sure, but less than needed because of the path of light

@@princessdio3686 if I'm not wrong this is photoshopped. I don't know cameras that well but I can at least explain my reasoning. Some of the fastest shutter speeds on smartphones are about 1/4000th of a second or 250000 nanoseconds. the speed of light is approx 300mil m/s now if let's say this guy is 6 meters away from his tv (a very generous estimate) and let's say that the mirror path is 12m. That leaves us with a 6m difference in travel length. Now light would cover 6m in about 20 nanoseconds. This all together would mean that for 20 out of the 250000 the mirror and the tv showed different screens. It can't matter about precision because the blending would either completely wipe out one scene or it would merge both into a garbled mess, meaning that this is not a possible picture (for a standard smartphone)

I'm surpised why so many people don't know which cat to bring home. Like I know my cats based on voice, walking gate, and general personality. If i encountered a cat with similar fur pattern it would only take me a few seconds to figure out if the cat was mine or not.

2:26 because the speed of light is around 3 million kps, that means that there was an indescribably small window of time for that picture to have been taken at just the right moment since the light had to travel farther when hitting the mirror. if you understand the math behind this, you will know that the chances of something like this ever happening again are so low that calling it a 0% chance is perfectly acceptable. Edit: yes I fking realize I was wrong stop replying about it about 6 people have said the exact same thing and it is driving me crazy

I believe the more likely occurrence is that this is due to the slow shutter speed of the camera, the image in the mirror was recorded a different time from the non reflected movie scene, and the scene changed in that time. you can also see this when you take pictures of fast moving objects, such as when you take an image of a moving plane turbine

@@destroyer1834 basically the camera registers all the light it sees in an interval, so if you had a light that blinked once but very very fast and you couldn't see it, shooting a picture at 1/60 of a second (that's like 16ms out of 1000ms), you could definitely catch a lot of stuff that happens very fast. assuming the tv had a 60 fps image, the chances are still pretty damn low xD unless you do pics in burst mode and pick one from 100 or sth

The tree at 11:22 is actually a grafted tree. Grafting (or in enten in native language) is a process done near in the early life of a plant or tree, usually in the winter when both plants are dormant. There are multiple techniques to doing this but it involves taking the roots and bottom portion of a plant called the rootstock, and a tender shoot from another called a scion. You essentially make a wound in the rootstock then insert the scion and bind them together to protect the wound so it can heal and grow the tendrils of both plants together. This only works with 2 similar plants and is usually used to combine aspects of fruit trees as an alternative to cross-pollinating to make a hybrid seeds. It can also be used in some cases to make a species of plants that doesn’t usually survive in a certain environment adapt by grafting it to a similar plant from the same family for example. I hope someone found this interesting.

2:08 This phenomenon is called meowtosis. A cat that's about to undergo this process will often times run away for up to a month. The original instance will return, while the duplicate produced from the process will arrive a day later. EDIT : We are able to observe an interesting case of meowtosis on 6:57 where it appears ranged meowtosis occurred. This is rare, but it can still happen. This method takes shorter time to happen (as it is practically instant) but it is very very rare. It works the same as lizard-tail regrowth but with the cat's fur.

4:03 If I had to make a guess, probably a lenticular cloud. They usually happen when humid wind is blowing perpendicular to a mountain range and on the top side of mountains waves. We see them all over the place just east of the rocky mountains, but that one does look a bit strange, even for a lenticular.

2:07 cat dupe. If a cat leaves and there is too much time before finding it, the game overwrites the fact that he was lost, resulting in two instances of the same cat. Since the console believes both cats to be “found,” the second instance spawns near the original, resulting in a duplication. There is a fix, but why bother? You have two cats now! Hope this helps!

The best way to replicate the cat dupe glitch is to put your desired item or pet on a flat surface (like a table) have another person spin the flat surface and then quickly grab object. Ignore the translucent glitch oval that may appear afterwards.

When I was younger, like four years old, I was on holiday on this island in the mediterrean. In the evening, the clouds looked like a devil. Creepy enpigh, but the cloud had holes in them where the eyes would be. The redish sunset was only visible trough these holes. Scared the everliving shit out of me.

8:05 might be Schönbrunn Castle (or a similiar castle with a bonkers garden). During spring and summer, you essentially get an even wall of leaves on the inside of the walkways. On the outside, thick branches get cut, so the tree can spend more energy on growing denser on the inside. This is what it looks like in autumn when the leaves have fallen.

The Laura Buxton one is fairly true. Its become more of a psychological study into humans perceiving patterns. Laura 1 (the girl that lost the balloon) & Laura 2 (the girl that ‘found’ the balloon). The balloon landed nearby Laura 2, found by a neighbor & returned to her since they thought it was hers. Laura 2 calls Laura 1 to properly return the balloon. Also, all this took place in England/UK. Adding in their surname - often these show to have some lineage that split from the family & moved. Dogs, Guinea pigs, & rabbits are some of the common pets there. Yet, all that came together for Laura Buxton to meet Laura Buxton - one of them a few months older than the other. Is this probability? Statistics? idfk but it can be amazing and spooky

Genetics. Sometimes if an egg was dividing into twins this could be possible. Another thing that could happen is chimerism, where one person (or animal) has different DNA in certain parts of their bodies. There have been cases where women give birth and the babies DNA is not hers, but has the fathers DNA. Biology is complicated.

This reminds me of a time years ago in school. I was six years old and in the playground at lunch, I looked up and saw a blue cloud. Every other cloud was normal, but this one was completely blue, just like the sky. I could make out the outline and some vague details within but it's almost like it was trying to blend in with the sky with a cloaking device. When I got home I told my mom about it and she just casually said it was a UFO. Totally wasn't scared of clouds for the next few years or anything.
