Ragi Milk or Ragi Haalu is a delicious and refreshing drink that can help beat the summer heat. Ragi, also known as finger millet, is a highly nutritious grain that offers numerous health benefits. Ingredients:
Raagi/Finger Millet - 1 Cup
Jaggery - 1 Cup to 1 & 1/4 Cup
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp
Method:
1. Add 1 cup of Raagi/Finger Millet. Add water and wash the Raagi/Finger Millet by pressing with your hand. Wash the Raagi 2-3 times and remove the water.
2. After washing three times, add water to soak it above 2 inches at the level of Raagi. Close the lid, and I allowed it to soak overnight.
3. Add soaked Raagi/Finger Millet to a big mixer jar, add 1/2 cup of water, and make a fine paste. Ground to smooth paste. Filter this Raagi Haalu/Milk. Take a big sieve or a two-layered sieve and filter the Raagi Haalu/Milk.
4. After filtering the milk, transfer the residue to the same mixer jar, add water, grind it 2-3 times, and filter the Raagi Milk from it. Mix the filtered Raagi Haalu/Milk with the help of a ladle. If you feel that this is thick, then add 1/2 cup of water and adjust the consistency. I have added a total of 3/4 liters of water.
5. Add 1 cup of Jaggery Powder, Add 1/4 tsp of Salt, And 1/2 tsp of Cardamom Powder, and mix well.
Now the Raagi/Finger Millet Milk is ready to serve.
