Perseverance,deception,self sacrifice for fellow humans/allies,cunning,wisdom/experience of war and the ability to adapt are a few more qualities that is going to make those alien fellas have a bad time.We are a paradox and we hate when aliens frik with our species.

From a S.F. story I read 43-44 years ago: "Adapt or die" This was aimed at involuntary colonists being sent to a planet that would be (hopefully) mostly terraformed by the time they arrived.

Nah, that would mean we do nothing but sex. I would say our directive is "Win". Survive is part of that, but not the whole story. If it was just survive, we wouldn't sacrifice ourselves for our fellows. If it was just "multiply", we wouldn't have built civilization; we'd be more like rabbits or fish. Our directive is "Win", aka, do better than the other guy. The standards of winning change. The methods are infinitely varied. We compete with each other, we form teams (tribes, nations, races) to better compete, we try to outdo each other and Mother Nature. And when we fail, we get better and try again if we can.
