Sad news hit the home of Sir Alex Ferguson! News coming from his family is that Fergie has lost his beloved wife Cathy! Lady Cathy had passed and United have issued a statement of condolence to Fergie’s and his family “ Everyone at Manchester United sends our heartfelt condolences to Sir Alex and his family on the passing of Lady Cathy. Lady Cathy was a beloved wife, mother, sister , grandmother and great grandmother, and a towner of strength for Sir Alex Ferguson throughout his career !”. We at the headquarters also channel our condolences to Sir Alex and his family for the passing Lady Cathy, his wife !

This is very sad news indeed and my heartfelt condolences go to Sir Alex and his family. It's a well-known saying that behind every great/successful man there stands a woman and Lady Cathy Ferguson was certainly that woman behind Sir Alex's towering achievements and hard times both on and off the football field. Man Utd fans should not forget the determining role Lady Cathy played in the then Alex Ferguson coming to the Red side of Manchester and not one of the rival London clubs which was a possibility years ago. The rest, as they say, is history! I hope the club can find some fitting way of remembering her; maybe an award created in her honour for a young female player. God receive her special soul and may she rest in peace and rise in glory!
