ዮኒዬ እኔም የመካኒሣ ተወላጅ እና ያደኩበት ሰፈር ነው።አባቴም እናቴም እንደነገሩኝ መካኒሣ የሚለው ስያሜ የመጣው "በከኒሣ"ከሚለው የኦሮምኛ ቃል ሲሆን፤ይህም አካባቢው ላይ በብዛት በነበረው "የብሣና ዛፍ"ነው።በኦሮምኛ ቋንቋ ብሣና መ ማለት - በከኒሣ ሲሆን/በተለምዶ መካኒሣ ወደሚል ቃል ተለውጧል።
