श्री पाद श्रीलंका में स्थित एक पवित्र पर्वत है।पर्वत के शिखर शीर्ष पर स्थित ऊंची चट्टान पर भगवान शिव के पदचिह्न हैं।
मैं सबसे पहले नल्लथन्नी गया जो इस पर्वत के नीचे बसा हुआ एक गाँव है।यहाँ का निकटतम रेल स्टेशन है हैटन जो इस गाँव से लगभग ३५ किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है।
यह समुद्र तल से 7353 फीट अथवा 2,243 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर स्थित है।पर्वत पर चढ़ने के लिए लगभग 5000± सीढ़ियाँ बनी हुई है।
इसका तमिल नाम, சிவனொளிபாதமலை, सिवानोलिपाथमलाई, जिसका अर्थ है "शिव के प्रकाश का पर्वत” ।
इसे बौद्ध, मुसलमान और ईसाइ भी एक पवित्र स्थल के रूप में मानते हैं । बौद्धों इसे बुद्ध, मुसलमानों इसे आदम और ईसाइयों इसे सेंट थॉमस का पदचिह्न मानते हैं ।
Sri Pada is a sacred mountain located in Sri Lanka. There are footprints of Lord Shiva on the high rock located at the peak of the mountain.
I first went to Nallathanni which is a village situated at the foot of this mountain. The nearest railway station is Hatton which is situated at a distance of about 35 km from this village.
It is situated at a height of 7353 feet or 2,243 meters above sea level. There are approximately 5000± stairs to climb the mountain.
Its Tamil name, சிவன்விபாதமலை, Sivanolipathamalai, means "Mountain of Shiva's Light".
Buddhists, Muslims and Christians also consider it as a holy place. Buddhists consider it to be the footprint of Buddha, Muslims consider it to be the footprint of Adam and Christians consider it to be the footprint of St. Thomas.
