I love the music and I feel the graphics capture the same look and spirit of the original. Some of the enemies, I notice, look better than others, but all in all a pretty good effort. Not a shabby job of remastering the original hit shooter by IREM, at all. Have you watched any footage of the latest R-type game? Very awesome. There's like 60 ships in it so far and they are always adding more. It was made by a firm called Granzella, which has many former IREM employees at the company, the same ones who made the original, R-type game. I have a handful of videos on my channel of the new Rtype game if you wanted to see how neat it looks.

I feel like it's got a similar problem with Doomsday mod for the OG Doom. Unlike Doomsday however, Dimensions feel the way as it is and doesn't disappoint.

Danke :-D Puh, kann ich gar nicht sagen..... habe das Spiel über Jahre auf verschiedensten Konsolen immer wieder gezockt und kam mit der Zeit immer besser voran. Aber um einen No Death Run hinzubekommen, muss man wirklich jeden Pixel aus jeder Stage quasi auswendig kennen, also wissen wann welcher Gegner kommt, das Stage-Layout usw. XD

There are other flying shoot’em games that could get this treatment. Maybe Super R-Type Dimebsions, which would include both SNES R-Type games.

Yeah, in 3D mode I've noticed that, too! :-D All seems more sluggish than in 2D :-D

It's a nice rendition of the original which offers a few interesting gaming options. I would give it a chance! :-D

This version is almost like the arcade version, perhaps a little bit slower due to the 3D graphics. Otherwise is 100% identical to the arcade version and just as hard ^^

But in the arcade original it's the same problem ;-)

C'mon that ragtime piano at 7:14 is perfect for space combat. edit: Just got to the pokemon music at 13:20, this is really something!

This is NOT FAKE, my friend! It was recorded back in 2017 on my PS3. I downloaded the game on the PS Store. You could change the game graphics and music via button pressing while you play the game ^^ By doing this you could play the Original Arcade Mode from 1987 or the (graphically and soundwise) enhanced mode.

Musically it is a mixed bag....... a few tracks had a good reissue (imo stage 1,3, 4 and especially 6) and the others are ok, but nothing special. The 3D visuals could have been better (it looks too plastic, the hitbox detection could have been better and the speed feeling) but you could change it anytime in its original 2D form and they add a few nice extra options on the graphics...... For R-Type fans it's a nice addition, but nothing too special! :-D

@garuru96 this game never game out for the SNES. It's fine that you like the SNES version's music, the system has some very good music on quite a few games, however, it's odd to compare this versions music with the SNES since the songs are totally different. It would be more apt if you compared this music to R-Type for the arcade or for the Turbo Graphix 16 and preferred those versions music when compared to this versions rendition. Me, I like what they did with the music here. I still prefer the original's soundtrack, but I really like what they did with some of the music tracts, especially stage 1 and 5.
