R-Type (Arcade) - No Death Playthrough [Difficulty: Normal]

A playthrough of R-Type on normal difficulty without dying. To be honest, I never expected to actually succeed: for me R-Type games are ones of the hardest shmups. Thus I am very happy that I could do it even though there may be playthroughs on youtube that are much better than mine. I am not a superplayer after all.

This is one of those games where you kinda need a no-death run, because without the upgrades you're rather SOL...

This is good, but there is a player who does the game with no items at all. One of the most skillful things I have seen in gaming!

@@andrewmoss6186 where????? I have to see that! I've only seen an attempt where they get stuck on stage 3 when they have to go backwards around the front of the mothership.

I played this game to death in the mid-90s on my super nintendo. I wish I could experience the same joy with today's video games, as I did this one.

R Type is hard as nails, but it's fuuuuuuuuuuun... Even when you mess up, it's still enjoyable.

Nice! I'm rediscovering this game on mobile since I used to play the much-easier Gameboy Color port growing up. Still figuring out stage 7 but I frequently get busted by the stage 5 boss and lose all my shit

Just have full force power with big rings and hit where the past is inside from the off seriously it get through and kills it without killing much of the outer flying toward you things❤

Congratulations, man! I'm also getting this fight to finish this game without losing lives. Really, this game is very hard! The 4th stage is my nemesis at the moment :P How is the process of recording video? You use the emulator itself to record or use other software? Is difficult to find an effective tutorial...

I usually use Dxtory for recording. And also have Bandicam, Hypercam and Gregion 3.1 (last two are freeware) installed - sometimes one software works better than others for different emulators.

Great play, man. This is a darn hard game, I've never been able to beat it. Of course, I have the android version and that version.... doesn't.... controle.... at all...

The owner of the arcade machine could set difficulty with some dip switches on most machines. Not sure about this one, but it would generate more money if people died sooner in a crowded arcade.

What do they expect you to do on the last boss. Dodge everything...? Good play through.

wait for its mouth to open and eject your module through the gap, so it gets stuck there, and then keep firing till it dies, I think.

FiXato Right, Line your ship up with the mouth and back up all the to the left side of the screen, none of the enemies will damage you unless you don’t destroy the boss in time. Charge shot, send your force in and keep firing.
