I’m glad footage like this is available for us to watch and remember the bravery and sacrifice made by those involved on that awful day. I’m from the Scottish highlands and was 24 and one week into training as a nurse at university when it happened - walked into the common room at lunch time and everyone was standing in stunned silence watching the live pictures on the tv. What I remember most about the days, weeks and months after was the amazing resilience and attitude of everyone in the USA and how they stood up and said “we’re not going to let this break us” and the fact everyone seemed to make a real effort to be kinder to each other. I’m glad the families and friends of the 343 and all the other emergency responders had support from the colleagues and FDNY family, (and the police etc). I’m sure that definitely made a massive difference in the healing. I’m just saddened that in today’s world, politicians who made promises to the people, who remained at Ground Zero for months and months to bring their friends and family home, seem to have forgotten their words. People are dying and suffering due to the awful effects of the pile of debris and yet they are being let down financially and have to worry about the cost of medical treatment etc. Films like this need to be aired regularly so that people can remind those who control the pursestrings just how much was sacrificed. Much love from the Isle of Skye.

I had The Bravest on video and watched it often, I was a volunteer firefighter in Upstate New York and then a volunteer in N.C. I still can't believe it's been 20 years, and to this day, I still cannot watch any of the videos from 9/11. And to this day, I still get very emotional about 9/11, Always proud to say that I'm a New Yorker and have always loved "My City" and FDNY.

Usually goes that avoid talking about it or hiding from the videos are the ones that struggle the most. I’ve dealt with it in firefighting in the military and I always tell guys the sooner you face reality it will get easier from that point. But it usually takes me years to convince them and they always respond back with i should of did that along time ago. I was raised in racing from 3-4yrs old and I was in stock car racing in the late 90s and early 2000s. We were losing 7-10 drivers per year in the community so that’s literally all I know. I was 8yrs old when a friend was killed in front of me hitting the wall from a blown tire. So I was conditioned from a child on how to cope properly but the majority of guys I met in the military they have been sheltered as a child and then they are 18+ before they have a friend killed in front of them so they had 18yrs of life having parents say this is normal when it’s actually not reality it’s a sheltered world. So It was just normalized from an early age. Now in the civilian I’ve lost friends in aviation. But I’m at peace immediately because of my up bringing it’s just normal. Also I was taught dying isn’t a bad thing, most are taught dying is abnormal and bad so they get alot of emotional damage when someone dies they know because again it was normalized that dying is somehow bad.

I thank God everyday that there are brave men and women in emergency services like this willing to put their lives on the line to save others. These men are more than heros, they are guardians with courage and brave hearts. I live right next to a firehouse and while I will admit the sirens aren't my favorite part of things, but it's a comfort to know help is right next door. Remember to thank them and respect them.

@Randy yes I have 3 times in my life, first time in 2013, then 3 years later, and then 2 years after the first time at the 9/11 ceremony, I’ve also been to Engine 1 Ladder, the firehouse that had 3 survivor firefighters aka Jim Grillo, Jim Duffy, and Tyrone Johnson from 24 Truck, I’ve also passed 65 Engine, 74 Engine/25 Truck/Collapse Rescue 1, which was back in 2019 on July 20th that I passed by 74/25’s quarters which is 74’s old quarters and they’re there currently while their current quarters is being renovated, I’ve also passed by Rescue 2’s old quarters on Bergen Street off Atlantic Avenue in Crown Heights Brooklyn back in 2021, as well as Rescue 3’s old quarters on East 176th Street between Park and Washington in The Bronx, Engine 79 Ladder 37 and Battalion 27’s quarters since my maternal grandfather is a retired battalion chief from there and retired in January of 2003, Engine 68 Ladder 49’s quarters, Engine 75 Ladder 33 and Battalion 19’s current and old quarters on Jerome Avenue and on Walton Avenue off Jerome Avenue in Fordham, Squad 61’s quarters, Squad 41’s quarters, Squad 18’s quarters, Engine 62 Ladder 32’s quarters in Gun Hill on White Plains Road because my maternal grandfather was a lieutenant with 62 Engine, and believe it or not I also passed by Engine 63 Ladder 39 and Battalion 15’s old and current quarters in Woodlawn and Wakefield since my maternal grandfather was in 39 Truck as a captain when they were quartered in Wakefield on the other side of East 233rd Street

There was a passenger that was supposed to be on American Airlines Flight 77 on that day to go to LA but instead booked a ticket on a more convenient flight at the last minute and it was a good thing he did because at 0937 hours on 9/11/01 his original flight slammed into the Pentagon at approximately 670-700 miles per hour it hit a light post at a very low altitude level and flown several feet above the Pentagon’s south lawn and into the south end of it, Father McGraw was originally heading to Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC, right after the crash of flight 77 he immediately jumped out of his car grabbed his holy gear such as his holy oil his holy missal, his purple stole and raced over to help the survivors of the crash of flight 77 that were in the pentagon one naval officer was seriously injured and seriously burned, father mcgraw spotted him on the ground and he crouched down and he asked what is his name and he answered he was father mcgraw he will be with him at all times until ems arrived he anointed him with the oil of the sick which is the holiest oil to use for many sick people, he blessed him and told him jesus was with him at all times since the officer was catholic, once ems arrived he was having trouble breathing from the amount of smoke in his lungs, I have a feeling he died in the hospital near the pentagon, he was one of the first survivors from the pentagon on that day that possibly died a few hours after he was found seriously injured by father mcgraw. We thank father mcgraw for finding him and staying with him as a sign he would most likely be ok and if not jesus will welcome him home to heaven. God Bless all our survivors on September 11th 2001 and rest in peace to all the victims on September 11th 2001 and many former firefighters who died of 9/11 related illnesses such as cancer in all internal parts of the body, and all our first responders that died on September 11th 2001
