Different car class, different era. So much has changed with that 13 year span. I do miss the R40 Slants, but time to look forward, and now, the R179s & R211s are the future. Thank You for sharing this piece of history, Mr. Railfan.

@@geecorona1311 and R179 uses thick ass metal frames for their window structure surprisingly they didn’t put the doors with screws showing on the outside like they did with the R142s

@@robroy6374No cap man, the R38s weren't trash just replace the roofs and its sad to see it retire. MTA could've cut cost if they didn't scrap the R38's, the R40's family and especially those r42's and r32's instead of ordering demonic R16ps and this is why we along with NYC sucks, we should've thought with our brains not our Asses.

Such a huge difference in design and features, very interesting when comparing the two. I do prefer the R179's design compared to the R40. Not to mention it went sonic speed. Also, congrats on 11k!
