Consequences are the results of cause and effect. How did Adam and Eve know they were naked? The eyes of their understanding were opened when the eating of the fruit finally opened their understanding of the difference between light and darkness. He is mixing truth with error. He is trying to remain true to erroneous biased interpretations that favor a wrong interpretation of the text. That’s not to say he is completely wrong, it’s to say that you ought filter his liberal interpretations through the text because he is adding and subtracting very liberally as it fits his desired end
