I was surprised to see feral cats roaming a game trail where there are bobcats, and other larger predator's.Not to mention cat-napping for several hours at that intersection. Bird and pigeon farms are prohibited throughout the world and only chickens are allowed and did you know why? Do you know what happens if you kill the felines? in fact you and your family are alive thanks to the work of thousands of cats a single example in chile there is a rat with a virus called hanta if this rat escapes to the cities it will spread to the whole world and 90% of humans will die but thanks to thousands of felines this dangerous rat is only snacks felines are the only one only human barrier to be covered in rats cockroaches lobsters and birds

There are cats here that the neighbors take care of. Just random outside cats. There have been a few different ones here and there but there are 3 original cats that have been here for the past few years. They just randomly showed up but I've seen them grow since they were a little bigger then kittens basically. I've seen them encounter raccoons outside but without fighting more with curiosity. These cats look very healthy , never injured or sick. Mind you they have a reliable source of food and water everyday with multiple places to hide so they have the advantage there. It's astounding to me to see them out there everyday in good as shape as they are granted it's not the same as what's displayed in this video these cats being in the wild. The cats next to me by the neighbors house is just a standard house in a standard neighborhood not the wild.

Living in Australia I know all too well about feral cats. The wildlife has been dealing with not only them, but also fire ants and crazy ants, cane toads, and other such introduced species that failed to adapt to the Australian ecosystem and just created more problems for them to deal with. The only good thing I've seen so far is that the fire ants love to eat cane toads. The rest is all about declining population of native species due to introduced and abandoned pest species - cats - that are also hunting the native wildlife. There's also Myna birds they take over nest sites that native species would build a nest in and actively chase them out. If you live in Australia, and you are not planning on breeding your cat, get it desexed. It will help limit the number of feral cats out there. Their numbers get so bad sometimes shooters get permits to go out and cull the pest problem population.

feral cat is cat It is an ordinary cat that is given permission and goes for a walk every afternoon and returns to sleep with its human and eats delicious things
@gatoninja4387
@gatoninja4387 Жыл бұрын
maybe you should tell the full story, in australia they threw away domestic cats these have controlled the rats, the australians began to kill the felines, causing a proliferation of millions of rats that are devastating australia and destroying all vegetation and crops and have also eaten lizards and bird eggs when the underground vegetation is destroyed, the water runs 10 times faster causing drought and now fires, the human being is a stupid killer and does not learn this, it already happened in the middle ages and ended with the black plague

At this point, if your government doesn’t do better in getting wiping out the invasive animals in your country, there won’t be any native species left in Australia

@@gatoninja4387 And then those cats get abandoned by their owners and revert to their wild instincts, making them a feral cat for real. Feral cat is not just an ordinary cat, it is a cat that has adapted to living in the wild because it's owners abandoned it or they are no longer able to care for it. Whatever the reason, cats that are breeding in the wild, because their owners did not consider what would happen if allowed to breed in the wild, is the reason feral cats exist. If a pair of domesticated cats breed without human intervention, they're doing what the wild cats do in nature. Thus becoming a real and problematic feral cat.

As a Boy Scout our troop visited "the beaver lady" in upstate New York. She also helped raccoons who would visit. While we were there a huge mamma raccoon and her kits came for a hand out. She was missing one paw. She had chewed it off in order to escape the trap she was caught in. Don't mess with Raccoons.

What a great video! It happened to us last summer with Larry. We named after Larry the Cat at #10 Downing St. In London. If you get another chance to befriend another feral cat, try putting some cat treat paste on your fingers and let him lick it off. After about a dozen sessions of this, he'll be yours. Larry is laying next to me as I type this. Shows that domestic cats will respond to love and kindness no matter feral or what.

Cats don’t normally have trouble with raccoons. Our domestic cats always stood their ground. Raccoon’s eyesight is poor and they get shredded by any cat that stands and fights. Dogs not so lucky, the in-fighting favors our ring-tailed friend.

Update December 2022 - Part 3 is now online at: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qbSTq5qfx9Kcdp8.html Updated 11/12/22 - The older feral cat with the injured hip may have used up a few of his 9-lives, but he has avoided capture and is back to full health again and you can see him after killing a large rat for dinner in October at: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZl2rNCflcC6eXU.html this entire area was under water during hurricane Ian and all survived, that story is at: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZl2rNCflcC6eXU.html There is also a feral cat courtship video at: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jNKTZNiIy7jegKM.html It is going to be just about impossible to trap any feral cats once they are embedded into the dense jungle underbrush with all the native animals. A drop cage trap with about a 75-100' of rope right at the fence line with a night vision 4G trail camera may be the only way and that's low probability. During the recent flood from Hurricane Nicole I caught a glimpse of this cat on top of the fence at dusk and he is much bigger than this video indicates, indeed he won't fit into the Havahart trap I have without scrunching down and I doubt he is going to do that.

I have had cats for many years. My outside cats would frequently come home limping as this kitty is. When they fight---they bite each other on the feet or owe leg. If kept clean it will heal just fine.

Keep your pets indoors/contained. Dog owners have to (and should!) No one else should have to deal with your pet that you chose to have.

My family got a kitten from a litter of a feral cat. She was big and I saw her put a hell of a licking on a large raccoon.

Good job! Maybe try baiting them with a heated fila? She would call them into an enclosure easier than you could trap them!! I hope you manage to get his limp sorted, cheers!

There were always some feral cats in my old neighborhood. I lived close to a golf course and there were a mix of foxes, owls, hawks and the occasional coyote. Every few months I would see a few litters of the kittens, but I would bet 1 out of 7 ever made it to 1 year old. It was kind of sad because I figured one of our neighbors would leave food out for cats and then most of the cats became food for the other wild life.
