I am a retired RCMP Officer living in a rural setting in Nova Scotia, Canada. I spend my time enjoying nature and feeding my furry friends, the raccoons. I also feed the deer in the winter months and many varieties of birds. I have two rescue cats named Connor and Charlotte. It's funny I am known all over the internet but when I go into Walmart in New Glasgow no one recognizes. I go to the big city of Halifax and I get recognized. But it is good to get out here locally and get my supplies and no one is none the wiser.

LOL there are lots of different accents in Nova Scotia. I think Jim's has a tinge of Newfie in his too - it's so easy to pick up on over there. I'm Acadian French, and I have a kind of French accent, but my niece, who married a Newfoundlander has now picked up their accent and sayings. It's like that on the East Coast of Canada - not sure if it's the same anywhere else lol

I'm a pet sitter and we have clients that feed Raccoons as well as Skunks! Thank you for letting the masses know that it's not strange and that they are not scary.

@Nova Scotia boxing101 here in So Cal, it's the opposite. At least with my clients (I'm a pet sitter). The skunks get the first run through and then the raccoons follow for the scraps. I guess it depends on the location and order of operations with each household but where I'm feeding it's Skunks then raccoons. Both are gravely misunderstood regardless

Grew up feeding raccoons on our carport pad, we had them coming up for about 8 years or so. Since it was the 1970’s they were more entertainment than the television. ;-) this reminds me of that time. Thanks for what you are doing. 🥰. I’m a retired USAF NCO. :-)

I have some medical issues, not covid, and watching James Blackwood and his fur babies completely removes an anxiety that I have during this depressing time. I loved the feature! Mr Blackwood and the li'l furballs have captured the hearts of so many people around the world. I personally have found James' videos very therapeutic during these stressful and uncertain times, providing much comfort to me. Knowing that Jim is keeping his promise to his wife just makes me have even more respect for him. Of course giving up sleep to feed baby racoons every three hours deserves the utmost respect if you ask me. If we had more people like James, the world would be a much better place.
