Heads up to everyone who doesn't know. The teaser was released with a technical issue, causing the colors to get all messed up, that's why it looks so strange, and why RD looks depressed.

I really hope we get an actual trailer soon so we can see just how amazing the animation actually is.

Just fyi, the art director for the movie didn't have anything to do with this and came about as close to condemning it on Twitter as she could and keep her job. Apparently they totally fucked up the shadows by bit-crushing the whole thing. More obviously they didn't use any frames that matched with the voice acting so the characters mouths are just moving randomly.

I'm fairly certain this is a case of the marketing team doing the whole "Slap assets and voice clips together" they've done for many MLP ads in the past, just this time with the yet-to-be-seen-in-motion movie assets. ...It was just unfortunate (And potentially not intentional) that this slap-dashed ad was the first glimpse we saw the animation for this movie in motion, and I'd say if you think this looks bad, hold your breath until we get _actual_ clips from the movie.

I'm still watching it. Even if it's absolute trash and the animation is bad, I will go to the theater and WATCH IT.

So...The teaser is like Mass Effect Andromeda without the patch XD I'm sure they'll fix soon!

I'm going to be honest here, the best thing about this movie will be the animation. I have low expectations for the story.

All the glitter is a REALLY bad sign of what to expect from this movie

I heard somewhere that the render was screwed up for the teaser trailer right here. And I also heard that the actual movie has better animation. I CANNOT WAIT! (Hasbro's using a new animation software. Toonboom or something like that)

Pinkie Pie's lip sync clearly isnt the actual animation that goes with what she says. She come in, and then they reverse the animation so she goes out.

The reason the animation looks good sometimes and bad other times is due to the editing. For example, you noticed how Rainbow Dash looked extremely choppy when she flew off screen. I'm guessing that in the original animation clip she might have moved at a different speed or in a different direction, and the editor manually keyframed the position of Rainbow Dash to be different from the source clip, and did a bad job of it. Another example is the close up of Pinkie Pie at the start of the Trailer when she asks for your attention. You can tell that they played the clip at it's normal speed, and then REVERSED the animation clip halfway. If you look closely at the tips of her hair you can see them suddenly change the direction. And the lip sync looks bad most likely because the audio clip they used was not meant to go with that animation clip.

I didn't realize it came out early yesterday, but I already see it from Drummershy's livestream and it's a good trailer. Oh, and I like it when you got the Glitters all over you.

When I first saw the trailer, I was a bit concerned about the animation because it was "different". However, when I saw it the next couple times, it actually wasn't that bad it was actually pretty good because I just needed to get use to seeing it more than once.

The trailer had an error that messed up the shadows around the characters. So the actual movie should look better.

5:20 it remind me of a fake trailer that a famous french youtuber (Joueur Du Grenier) made some years ago. It was on a vidéo where he talked about old girl cartoons from the 80's who were in France. The name of the fake movie was "My little pony - Battle for Ponyland" you can check he made the trailer in English in the original vidéo

The animation style is different because they wanted to make the film version of the show pop more and they are probably gonna have it in 3d which when mixed with the artwork and animation style used for the movie its gonna be a similar to the full effects of an lsd trip lol but seriously look at the power rangers movie or any other movie based off a tv show for that matter the designs for the characters, their outfits, animation style, setting, objects in show, extra charcters etc. they have a much larger budget to make a film instead of a 22 minutes episode plus they want movies to be way better than the show so they go all out like with the light almost aura like glow rainbow dash and the glitter effects

I can't wait to see the movie, and one point on favor for the teaser: no spoilers. :)

Trailers sometimes have slightly unclean animation and some finished clips. As for the quality of animation being different from the show is kind of typical as this is a movie so they are pouring all their power and resources into producing this for the big screen or rather to make better sense they typically give 90% to the show, but now they are putting out a movie they are giving the extra 10% so the animation is going to look different. Granted this is a teaser so not much effort is thrown into it typically. This is just to get the word out and stir up the fandom and the demographic so the kids are begging their parents to go see this movie.

I was having doubts about the animation "Harmony", what with me not entirely accepting that 3d animation movies are kind of taking over (sorry, I'm too much of a 90's kid to love the 2d Disney and Don Bluth animation), but the animation of this, even though this is just a sliver of a teaser, looks pretty sweet, so far so good.... maybe I'm saying it a bit too soon, 'cause I haven't seen the rest to have a final thought about this

Okay, for all those people who don't know latest events, the animation in the movie will not look like the trailer. It'll be better, similar art style but the shadows will be more accurate. For those who don't like the art; just because the art is different you automatically hate it? It's still the same show, same actors, and everything else you fell in love with the show. It's still there. But the art looks a little weird because the 16-bit images weren't converted correctly to the 8-bit. So stop complaining, you haven't even seen the movie and all of you already don't want to watch it or unwillingly or don't like it in general. So have an open mind.
