Race Season is Officially Underway! - Testing the 55 for Sick Week

Thanks to Mickey Thompson Tires for having us out to test for a few days in Orlando!
We are kicking off race season early in Florida, testing for Sick Week which is happening January 28 - February 2. The 55 did really good on day 1 and the new motor seems very happy. Check out how it's going and get ready for more testing in the next video, then it's time for a week of racing!

Don't forget about the plastic DEF tanks. Most plastic resin comes from overseas. The 6 largest cargo ships pollute more than all vehicles on the planet combined. This country is just pissing in the wind when it comes to DEF systems.

Alex, you nailed the problem when you explained that you didn't remember shifting, you just instinctively did what you were supposed to do. You remind me of my daughter; she works in a hospital, and her coworkers say she is fantastic in an unexpected crisis. But if she has time to overthink, she stresses out. You are one of the best natural drivers I've ever seen. DON'T OVERTHINK IT!!You let your muscles do what you've trained them to do, and just let your brain enjoy the ride. If you aren't having fun, it isn't worth doing.

Considering that most of the world doesn't use DEF/AdBlue in treating diesel exhausts, it must be just another money maker for the big 6 oil companies. Real pleased my truck doesn't use it as an additional expense.

Alex I found out the other day. My oldest Daughter Alexsis is 7 days older than you. Super crazy for me being a fan! Just found out our local 1/8th track is opening back up this year in Upstate NY. I've recently found myself as a newly disabled guy and I'm building a car. That is completely functional to race. Without use of legs. It won't keep up with You and Steve. However will be a blast!! The most impressive thing of this video is how much her dad cares about her safety. From making sure he belts are tight to putting the net up, I worked on some formula Mazda cars, and the importance of knowing you do everything right as you help the driver get buckled in and knowing their lives are in your hands if you forgot something. Also did 25 years as a dirt late model crew cheif

Watching your dad, it's easy to see how/why you've grown into a confident, self-reliant, no-drama woman. It's obvious he loves all 3 of his kids, isn't afraid to show it & relished every minute he gets to spend w/ you doing his favorite thing in the world. No tension, no shortage of patience, supportive & perfectly balanced between instructive & self-exploration in his teaching/mentoring/fathering. Having come from an era when you never heard support, always demands, never heard good job, only glad you didn't eff up, again & if you were lucky, you found out they DID love you... in their last mortal moments. I, personally, never heard it. Revel in how fortunate you are, Alex, your dad's behaviour isn't ubiquitous, even today. My vote for Dad of the year, no, decade, nope... Century is Dennis Taylor. Best to you & yours, love, support & tell each other how you feel; it goes by fast, trust me. I'm officially 'ancient', as of 2023, and it was just last week I was building/racing my pride & joy '57 Tudor wagon; the height of familial support in my passion, was... Well, you're an adult, earn your own way & can waste your time & money however you choose. Never, NEVER, did I come home from a short or long race trip & hear, "How'd you do?" Whether my pockets were stuffed w/ $, which just 'might' cover expenses & carrying a big-azz trophy, or curushed & defeated, hundreds of $ short, never one word of support or you'll get 'em next time. I should have been used to it, but even as an ancient son, w/ grandkids of my own; even today, there's still an inner hope they were proud of my list of life accomplishments. (Aw, eff, who am I kidding?) Perhaps, w/o their soul crushing negativity, I wouldn't have accomplished half. Count your blessings in a myriad of ways. GeoD
