We mark the 21st anniversary of the death of Rachel Corrie, the 23-year-old U.S. peace activist who was crushed to death by an Israeli soldier driving a military bulldozer on March 16, 2003. Corrie was in Rafah with the International Solidarity Movement to monitor human rights abuses and protect Palestinian homes from destruction when she was killed. To this day, nobody has been held accountable for her death, with the Israeli military ruling it an “accident” and the Supreme Court of Israel rejecting an appeal from her parents in 2015. Rachel Corrie has since become a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people, and her legacy must be used “to direct attention back to Rafah” and prevent an escalation in the war, says her friend and fellow activist Tom Dale, who witnessed her final moments. We also speak with Corrie’s parents, Cindy and Craig, who say they have met many Palestinians over the years who continue to honor their daughter’s memory. “For Palestinians everywhere, Rachel’s story has been very important,” says Cindy Corrie. “They tell us over and over again how much it meant.” After Corrie was killed, they devoted their lives to her cause and founded the nonprofit Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice.

More courage than any man in our government. In '08, my senior year in college, I did a PowerPoint on Palestine. I can see the class sort of torn with emotion because I was criticizing our 'ally'. I finally get to the USS Liberty attack and Rachel's story. The entire class was on my side and upset they hadn't heard about these events earlier. Keep her name alive.

Did you also inform the class that everyone of the survivors of the USS Liberty atrocity were threatened with jail time by their own government when they arrived back home in the USA not to speak of the event with anyone, especially the media. What does this say about the stranglehold zionists have over our entire government and our population.

Thank you for doing the work. ❤ In the 2000’s I found answers about the “conflict” difficult to find. Jewish friends could only offer vague explanations like..”Its been going on so long” as was the main deflection of the time... inferring that it was difficult to determine which side of the conflict was the perpetrator. Once I also did the work to understand the relationship between Palestine and Israel, it was clear as the blue sky, who had been wronged. It was a real awakening and I realized that asking questions is useless when Israeli, Jewish, Christian and Western powers control the self-serving narrative. We must all do the work to understand the truths of the world. Go beyond social media. Read listen, watch.. and everybody talk. ❤

Besides them, many Arab sources confirm the fact that the Holy Land was still Jewish by population and culture in spite of the Diaspora: ·In 985 c.e. the Arab writer Muqaddasi complained that in Jerusalem the large majority of the population were Jewish, and said that "the mosque is empty of worshippers..." . ·Ibn Khaldun, one of the most creditable Arab historians, in 1377 c.e. wrote: "Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel extended over 1400 years... It was the Jews who implanted the culture and customs of the permanent settlement". After 300 years of Arab rule in the Holy Land, Ibn Khaldun attested that Jewish culture and traditions were still dominant. By that time there was still no evidence of "Palestinian" roots or culture . ·The historian James Parker wrote: "During the first century after the Arab conquest [670-740 c.e.], the caliph and governors of Syria and the [Holy] Land ruled entirely over Christian and Jewish subjects. Apart from the Bedouin in the earliest days, the only Arabs west of the Jordan were the garrisons". Even though the Arabs ruled the Land from 640 c.e. to 1099 c.e., they never became the majority of the population. Most of the inhabitants were Christians (Assyrian and Armenian) and Jews.

@@567307 You are a horrifically callous person. To think that the Palestinians STARTED the "war" when this has been going on longer than Hamas has been an organization... To think even IF all this had only started with Hamas that it still justifies years and years of slaughter, war crimes, and at present- a 92% civilian casualty rate. To think that all of Palestine is guilty of what Hamas did when the largest majority of them weren't even ALIVE when he was elected. To think that the IDF are right to bulldoze civilian houses, cultural, educational, and medical buildings, not to mention PEOPLE... I truly don't want to be inside the head of a person able to justify even one of those things.
