Your video is stupid and in bad faith. Instead of attacking the system and methodology (or lack of really) to give the award you chose to make a personal aggression, coming as misogynous and biased. I have 0 sympathy for Rachel Nichols, but that's also true for all other media "personalities" involved in the voting process. What you clearly don't understand is that the MVP is a popularity award, it doesn't have much value in other terms than marketing and business reasons.

As an English fan of the NBA, I really can't get my head around how much air time media members get in America to state their opinions about the game. Especially when they often have vets/hall of fame level players just sitting there listening to them. Rachael Nichols is a prime example. For anyone who is a fan of the premier league, they could never imagine David Jones talking about the football on sky sports while Roy Keane just sits there and listens to him lol. He would never do this and that's why he's one of the best in the business at what he does. Presenters should present, their personal opinions are simply not as valid as the pros they have on their shows. It may seem harsh but it's the truth.

nv.f I think the bias would be just as bad. The media at least don’t give a rip about players livelihood and legacies. The players do. They understand the weight of it. Players have bias for former or current teammates

nv.f I personally only see bias in the Mvp voting and even then. It’s been correct for the most part for years. When it comes to all nba. It’s very hard to classify who goes on what team. You know. There’s less bias there. The bias in the all defense team is more just they’ll just slap on the same group of names every year cause they either don’t watch games or can’t differentiate WHOS better than who
@WtJah

With offense. You can see the ups and downs. Not every scorer is out here giving you 30 every single game of every single season. But with defense. Remember when KD and Steph was having great season on the warriors, people in the media refused to bring them in MVP conversion because they cancel each others, it is not fair for others players. the media in recent years has really taken away a lot of my love for the nba, it's not fun anymore. too narrative driven, too concerned with free agency and hypothetical trades, too concerned with fake beefs, too concerned with the players pregame outfits, a lack of appreciation for winning (calling winning 'ringzz culture') and becoming too stat obsessed, etc. that coupled with the horrible style of play this analytics era is it's just not as fun, still love it but not as much as i did a couple years ago. the way the media worships lebron is another big reason. none of this was the case before adam silver either.

I can't believe she made that argument about the MVP race. The NBA really needs to address that way of thinking. Awards like MVP and All-Defensive is key for a player's legacy and sometimes income. We can't have people with low basketball knowledge making these decisions. Similarly, only ex slam dunk contest participants should be voting in that contest too. The NBA needs to get its act together.
@videogameboutique2196
@videogameboutique2196 4 жыл бұрын
Look, i love me some Candace Parker but i won't let my bias for being in love with her, skew my judgment about the fact that she shouldn't have been one of the judges in the slam dunk contest. But to show i am not saying that, because she's a woman ( and a very beautiful one at that ) The actor, Chadwick Aaron Boseman should have DEFINITELY have not been a judge. Even candice is more qualified than him, being she actually has dunked in a professional basketball game, whereas Chadwick is an actor! So the NBA need to only have dunkers that's been in the contest to judge, doesn't matter if they didn't win the contest they were in or not.

@@josesalazar7556 It doesn't matter she wasn't a WNBA player. She played basketball at college as a guard. And if the WNBA had existed back when she was in college, she would have entered the WNBA draft and been signed with a WNBA team. Furthermore, Doris burke is well known for being a WNBA advocate, being she was a sportscaster for the WNBA! So you're false logic, that nobody said anything about her, simply because she didn't play in a league that wasn't established, when she was playing college basketball makes no sense whatsoever. It's not about a woman playing in the WNBA, it's about what women advocate for and why. She's a woman and being a prominent figure in sportscasting in a male dominated field, makes her stand out as the face of the WNBA, more so than Candace parker, being she just started her career in basketball sportscasting. So if anyone is going to choose a woman as a poster child for the NBA, forcing the WNBA down the throats of male NBA fans, it would be DORIS BURKE. not Candace parker of all people. This is simply because, Doris is way more accomplished, being she has been around longer and the most important, is a WNBA alumni in terms of sportscasting.

That's why she has the job. The NBA isn't a sport anymore, it's sports entertainment. ESPN and the NBA make money on the league's success so they need a mouthpiece who will push forth their narrative. It's really sad to see. The refs try to turn every game into a close exciting game while making horrible calls and no calls which ruins the game. If every game is special, then no game is special. What makes a game special is that you saw a fair competition and most of the time they don't have a great ending. But those games that are legitimately officiated, and have a special ending stick with you for years. You tell your kids about them. The NBA has been going down this path since the 99 lockout. I really hate to see the sport that I have loved for decades reduced to this.
