Surveys didn’t work for me. Sooooo often I’d start, get thru a few questions, then find our I don’t “qualify”. The ones that promised more dollars per survey they would wait til I’d spend time doing half of it, then say “sorry”.
@OtherDianne
@OtherDianne 8 ай бұрын
Agreed. I very rarely ever got to do an actual survey. So I typically earned like 10-20 cents for just trying. And then I'd have to answer a bunch of questions to determine more surveys to send me and they probably didn't want my input (demographically speaking) anyway. So it was pretty wasteful for me personally.

Same for me. I tried years ago and when I spent 20 mins and was nearly done, they would conveniently say that I didn’t qualify.

I do knitting, people provide a pattern and I quote for the job plus materials ( wool) and postage. It doesn't earn a lot but definately more than any online side hustle I have tried. I can do it from home in my own time ( I am retired) its satisfying, and I am in control. I advertise on a website for home knitters , and people just email me if they want a job done. Knitting is the most profitable skill my mum ever taught me !

In line with tutoring and freelance work. Consider visiting your local community college. you might be surprised at the adjunct and instructor or tutoring opportunities that might be available. Even if you don't have a degree often, they are looking for people with industry experience. Another plus is sometimes these jobs are ongoing, but sometimes they are temporary, so you are not tied into something long-term if you don't want to be. But if you're good at what you do, you might be able to work regularly.

Window tinting is an awesome side gig. Depending on where you live shops will pay you 125-225 per car. A full car once trained can be done in under 2 hours. Does take some networking and investment in a short hands on course. Worth it! 4-6 cars a week is 8-12 hours of work a week. Or 40K-50K a year. Usually cash!

I do ridesharing as a side hustle; I drive passengers to the next big city about two hours away and after a short break drive right back. Even after paying for gas I profit about $25/hour. The money isn't huge but just sitting there and listening to podcasts, I also participate in a lot of clinical trials. Not glamorous but huge tax-free money sometimes, free food and watching my phone for hours guilt-free.

There will be more cost up front for equipment, but some small jobs such as power washing out old garbage cans is a service George Kamel talked about that's taking off. If you want an actually full time gig power washing though, I was told you pretty much need 4000 PSI and 4GPM on the power washer for it to be worth trying at all.

Unpopular opinion outside of the eco-minimalism world but drop shipping is not an ethical way to make money. It contributes to and encourages over consumption. We don’t need more people selling more stuff. These products also tend to be cheaply made from toxic, unregulated materials, unnecessary, and often end up in landfills.
@OopsFailedArt
@OopsFailedArt 8 ай бұрын
I absolutely get where you’re coming from but I fully disagree. You’re confusing over consumption with consumption. I have no debt. Going and buying Telestrations for instance, is not an evil deed. Nor is it wrong for Rachel to advertise that product. Drop shipping is just direct marketing so it’s almost identical in spirit to advertising. Owning items is not the problem - items owning us IS.
@jessicahelene23
@jessicahelene23 8 ай бұрын
@@OopsFailedArt if you look back at my comment, I do say over consumption. Never said buying a family game is an evil deed. I’m sure you’ve seen the ads all over KZfaq and other social media platforms about the “secret to making money” by drop-shipping (whatever word you want to use for indirectly selling from third parties) cheaply made items that are single-use ‘novelties’ that end up in landfills. Knowing this and doing it anyway to make a profit IS unethical in my eyes.
@OopsFailedArt
@OopsFailedArt 8 ай бұрын
@@jessicahelene23 So I’m unclear what your comment means then by “contributes to and encourages over consumption”. The problem I have is that you’re making the assumption that all of these are the same product type. I also respectfully disagree. I don’t see a problem with single use trinkets when responsibly bought. Growing up extremely poor (1 of 7 kids to a single income family always eligible but never using food stamps), these cheap items were about all we could get. We learned to take good care of them and make even their terrible quality last. I understand your point but I think you’re painting with too broad a brush. I agree that it may not be the wisest of business ideas but I believe there’s a difference between something being unwise and unethical. You’re welcome to disagree but that was the point I was trying to make my friend.
@jessicahelene23
@jessicahelene23 8 ай бұрын
@@OopsFailedArt the funny thing is, I agree with you, which is why I’m trying to clarify. It’s one thing to buy/consume items, regardless of cost, that you need or even just want if the intent is to use and care for it. It becomes a problem when people buy things BECAUSE they are “cheap” with the intent to only use it once, to intentionally misuse or destroy it, then throw it away or not care for it because it was “cheap anyways”. That’s where I think the problem lies. Maybe @shelbizleee can help.
@OopsFailedArt
@OopsFailedArt 8 ай бұрын
@@jessicahelene23 I definitely agree with you on that point. I guess I would summarize the only area I think we’re in disagreement on as the same argument on whether it’s moral to serve alcohol. It CAN be abused, but when consumed responsibly it serves as one more pleasure our Lord has given us. I just would put the blame more on the consumer than the supplier. There’s plenty of people buying these items the right way and I don’t see it as the sellers fault that 20% of them are “alcoholics”. It’s an interesting and worthwhile debate though 💙

With all respect, I ceased to trust anything on this list when she gave surveys a 10 out of 10. A handful of the best paying survey sites might pay you a whopping minimum wage, but they are more often than not scams. You are promised a 10 minute survey, and 20 minutes into the 10 minute survey you get "disqualified". And that was on the most reliable sites!
