I love how the bomb timer is video accurate. Such good attention to detail in this short! I love how the scenes have such fluidity and continuity between them. I would love to see a reanimated or a MAP of this someday!

Despite being completely silent, this has some of the most fun and zany personalities of any piece of animation I've seen on KZfaq in a long while. None of the facial expressions are overdone or exaggerated, but they still convey emotions perfectly. It maybe cuts a bit too frequently from scene to scene to the point it's hard to follow it, but that's honestly the fast-paced action of it all, so I can excuse that. Otherwise, basically perfect. We don't deserve pieces of animation this good for free, and yet here we are.

headcanon after rewatching this so many times and why it felt off it doesn't make sense the inspector figures out how to open the diamond instantly after retrieving it, so it's not likely that the inspector was chasing the thief just out of her thievery, but rather as a way to safely retrieve the bomb from the diamond, which would mean she was being chased out of concern for her and the public's safety first and foremost which is pretty cute, two mystery solvers aiming at the same goal coincidentally goes hard as a plotline

It has been ages since I last saw this… I remember coming across this video when it was 36 minutes old… I was 13 at the time and fascinated with animation, this video is what pushed me to try and do artwork of my own. I sadly no longer do the art style from all those years ago, I rely on sketching when I can with breaks from life…. Maybe I should try and force some time from work. Do art during my lunch instead. Oh my god. This animation deeply affected me. When i saw it years ago i remember being so mesmerized me and my younger sisters would rewatch it time and timw again. The Villain I appear go be was my favorite song. I was so inspired! After this, anytime i would listen to a song i would imagine a little animated music video with it. Its been years, i don't think i can ever act on my imagination (i prefer fo draw semi realistic). But it still really inspired me. Seeing this again fills me with so much nostalgia and happiness

A detail I really appreciate is that when Tia opens the diamond to find the bomb with 45 seconds left before it explodes, in the video when the bomb appears, there’s about 45 seconds left before it ends, and I absolutely LOVE the attention to detail

This is one of the most cleverly crafted pieces of music and animation. I was 2 years too late finding this masterpiece.

I always wondered why it's called Diamond Jack if the character's name is Tia, and I just figured it out six years later lol Diamond Jack like... jacking a diamond, diamond theft. I can't believe how I missed that, haha!

I was in 6th grade when I first saw this animation. I was absolutely obsessed with it, I memorized the song and replayed it endlessly. I even made my plot diagram project on this animation instead of a book because of how much I loved it. I’m in highschool now so it’s kinda nostalgic to see this in my recommended again.
