Crazy 2 Strokes. We love to build them. We love to ride them. Now its time to race them! Yep, its time for the incredible 2023 YZM 500 (aka the Yzilla) to take to the race track for the first time. This BRC racing powered Yamaha 2 Stroke is an absolute beast, and this is the first time the big 500cc YZ has been raced anywhere in the world. Great race, that RM125 shows how nimble and rapid the 2 strokes were.. light and enough power to embarrass anybody in real life.

What you do for two strokes is incredible and I know the subscribers of 999lazer will appreciate it too. For us to own a none vibrating modern big bore 2 stroke is amazing and we can't wait for the next race. Any one who is lucky enough to get their hands on one will be genuinely blown away.

My way to quell arm pump is to stretch, stretch, and stretch some more. Before race day, during and after. You will get used to it after a while. And you can get away with absolute murder on a 125 because they are so light. A good thing about a 500 is you can go outside on every turn and still have plenty of power to pass on the straights.

I found a cure for arm pump when I was racing. A regular regimen of masturbation alternating arms does the trick. It’s training like any other muscle. You use the tools you have. 😂

Great vid and good to see you can still put an old 490 up with the modern bikes, and proves you don’t have to have the latest and greatest bike to be competitive.

I thought that you wouldn't be able to top the 250 / V-twins. I was wrong.😃 I had so much fun watching this video, I watched it twice!! Kudos to you and your crew!!! Great one!!! Could smell that pre-mix. Please keep up the great work 👍. And it doesn't hurt to cover, AS MANY AS YOU CAN MOTORCYCLES!!! All types and sizes, makes and models, the list is endless. From Northern California, can't wait for the next one!!!

It certainly does, I don't know how they held on for 45 mins... and the yzilla has a counterbalance shaft so there are no vibrations

It looked rock hard in the first round but a lot better by the third - though it still looked a little on the stiff side considering the track. Its the same story as the old 500's used to be - its all about trying to put that power down. Shawn is obviously a talented guy but lets be honest you don't expect to go out on the first race day with pretty much no testing and an unknown bike and get podium places. The guy on the 490 goes well because he's probably ridden it until its pretty much part of him. Imagine what this thing is going to go like once you've got some hours on it and its dialled in properly. As it is a class win and 2nd overall for a guy in his 50's on a bike thats barely turned a wheel is an amazing achievement.

The fact he got PASSED by a 125 like wasn't even off his stand just goes to show that bike is not being used all the way I don't understand why he did all this just to let some older guy ride it get someone who can actually ride the bike to it's potential
