2nd Day of Planting! We finished corn on corn ground, and moved to finish planting the last field of corn. I screwed up and should have had fall burn down applied to the farm, but it got late and now most of the farm is in weeds. Weeds were too thick to cultivate unless we hit it a bunch of passes so we decided to No-Till into it. It actually worked out great! Just worried a bit about the stand if we don't get the Weeds taken care of in-time. I apologize if I sound like I'm complaining at all- I just try and show all the ups & downs of farming and any mistakes we make along the way.

Even running smaller acres getting a second tractor could be very justifiable. Being able to run 2 tractors in order to get crops planted even if it’s a day sooner sometimes can be essential to the bottom line of making a profit.

I would buy a second tractor soon, the price of equipment is probably going to keep going up for the next two years. And with only one tractor a break down brings you to a full stop. Also might want to look at a older tractor that can still be retro fit with auto steer and monitors

The grass will help pull moisture out of soil. Will also scavenge nutrients. Grass in corn is not your friend. Big yeild reduction if left alive. Generic Select herbicide works in michigan for volunteer corn. Talk to your rep. They will get you straightened out.

Hell yeah! Grant... You are such a huge inspiration to me. If I hadn't found your channel. I don't think I'd be as successful in the diesel ag mechanic industry! One day... I would really love to meet you in person. By the way, that 6.0 sounds nice, but my 1997 F250 7.3 with a 4 in axle dump straight pipe could give it a run for it's money.

Another tractor would be ideal someday. If you were to have an unexpected breakdown during crunch time or say the engine goes out and it has to be overhauled depending on dealer parts available and machining it could take a week or so to get done. I hope plant 22 is going good so far. Be safe and keep up the great work guys.

Nice video we got done planting this Wednesday we’re hoping to start spraying and put 28 nitrogen on this week. I personally would buy another tractor this summer or maybe closer to fall and maybe invest in a vertical tillage tool or chisel. For a tractor I recommend a 4440 or a 4640 come harvest time you won’t regret it.

That's amazing that the ground is still wet. You were talking about left handed threads. If the nut is on the left side of disk and the top of the disk rolls forward. The disk keeps the nut tight. Same if the nut is on the right side with right handed. Hope this helps. I may have missed the video but I was wondering about the dually. What was wrong with it when you took it in to the shop? Awesome videos guys. 👍🚜

I am small. One driver. 3 tractors get used a lot. 2090 case planting mainly. FORD TS 110 FWA drag, spray, older smaller field cultivator. (Sold it’s disc). Main MF 7622. But with few changes one tractor can replace another. Put duals on case it does most TS 110. TS can fill in much slower, smaller for MF. Right now 4wd are imo the cheap hp deals.
