Still coming in good..ive been playin for almost 2 years now..i love it. The first z serve has been very efective for me i utilize it alot when im trying to catch up on points but will defenitily try the second z serve from now on. Thanks ben!

Huh. I never thought of using a slow high lob for a serve, let alone a slow lobbed z shot. Sounds like fun

I used to love playing Racquetball, and I was every bit as good as these guys back in the day. I could consistently stick a lob serve in the back corner and make it die. The Z serve was one of my faves. I'd get back into it but I'm a fat bastard now and I'd be afraid of having a heart attack.

Good video. Gonna practice them in few hours. Quick question, in a valid serve, ball should hit the sidewall (which is optional after hitting front wall), before the back line of the serve box? If the ball hits front wall, goes all the way beyond back line of serve box, hits side wall and then lands on the floor, is this legal?

+anuj balan As long as you hit the front wall first, it is legal to hit the side wall anywhere (as long as the ball hits the ground before the back wall or ceiling). On a Z serve you would want to hit the side wall completely in front of the entire service box. If you want to hit an ace, a great serve to practice is to hit the side wall very low just behind the short line (the back line of the service box). hi there, i would like to know what would happen if during the serve the ball bounces before the service line (not even inside the box). IS it an automatic switch or still have two chances of serving?.

Awesome, thanks a lot. But what i meant was that what happens if i serve and the ball once it hits the front wall, bounces into the floor even before the service zone (box). Still have a chance for a second serve or is it an inmediate switch?

When I used to play racquetball as part of an after school program, my favorite serve was a way to screw with my opponent's head by tossing the ball over my head and spinning into a back handed serve. But that was just for fun, my opponents were college age supervisors of the after school program, and I was in sixth grade.

Y'all know any good videos on how to hit the damn ball where you want? I'm at the point my game where I have awareness of where the ball should go, but I just can't put it there. Maybe I need new strings? Been playing for over 5 years, not regularly but I'm not where I want to be.

is it against the rules on a z serve for the ball to hit the front wall the side wall and then the other side wall in the air? does it have to touch the ground first before hitting the 2nd side wall?

***** According to USAR Rule 3.9, a three-wall serve is considered a fault, so the ball must hit the ground before the 2nd side wall.

I actually had to practice hitting straight in drives. Z serves came naturally to me.

The Z serve hits the front wall, side wall, floor, then other side wall, and kicks out parallel to the back wall. The best way to return a Z serve in my opinion is with a ceiling shot.

McEnroe and Sampras were the best at disguising their serves. Rocky has a great Z serve, especially for the outdoor game.

Problem with lining up on left side to do a Z serve to a right handed player is you are not disguising doing a drive serve to his backhand because you would not be capable of doing this.

Filipe Kyrgios - No, you cannot. If you hit the ceiling first, it is an automatic side out. If you hit the front wall and then the ceiling, it is considered a fault. If it was your first serve, you get a second chance. If it was your second serve, it is a side out. Hope this helped! -RbW
