In this video we'll benchmark the AMD Radeon RX 7600 in Horizon Forbidden West. We'll be testing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K, with multiple presets as well as FSR.
Horizon Forbidden West is a visually impressive game, and unfortunately 8GB VRAM GPUs are struggling on anything higher than medium settings. Still, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 performs quite well here using reasonable settings at 1080p and 1440p.

The 7600 seems to have really strong 1080p performance. Have you noticed that first party PlayStation games use heavy motion blur? After the patch and Nvidia drivers seems like we probably will get a bit more refinement and you are right the game can look amazing

I first thought that frame generation was kinda broken in this game as there were a LOT of artifacts in motion. Disabled FG and it looked the same. Then saw motion blur strength was set to 10 🤦 But you're right, PS games do seem to rely on motion blur. Started up Ratchet and Clank a few weeks ago again and the default settings also had high motion blur. It's a lot more noticeable and aggressive than something like Cyberpunk for example. And it's like that in most PS games 😔

@@Mostly_Positive_Reviews I think they use it heavily to hide heavier resolution scaling or FSR idk I remember reading there was a bug with DLSS and waterfalls & water in motion I wonder if that bleed over to frame gen it was in the patch notes recently still all in all the game came out in a much better shape than a lot of other games recently and it's good to see them still continue to work on it

@@pcgameshardware867 Oh yeah, for sure, game is in a very decent state. Few minor bugs here and there, but so much better than so many other games at release.

I generally benchmark games at stock settings without mods for official benchmarks. I will do separate videos on stuff like mods every now and again. Will probably do one for this game at some point though.

How about AFMF enabled?

The issue with AFMF is that it dynamically disables itself during times where there are large differences between frames, typically during fast movement. With HFW however, on the 7600, it disables itself a lot more frequently, and I think it's because of the amount of detail in this world, meaning there are a lot of differences between frames even when just moving around normally. That, or the 7600 is struggling to keep the framerate high enough for AFMF to work a bit better. I would need to test on something like the 7800XT to find out if it works better there.

at this game gives me my card 60-70 fps (without fsr or fmf) inside a forest at 2k, so something wrong u are doing or u don't have a total good pc

There is absolutely no way you are getting almost double the performance at the exact same settings. You are claiming RTX 4070 levels of performance with a 7600, and that's impossible. You are using an Adrenaline profile that's using super resolution, or your resolution and settings dont match mine. There are plenty RX 7600 videos on KZfaq for this game, and my results match those very closely.
