Radiator replacement: 2 to 4 hours.
This video will show you how to replace the radiator on a 2003 Dodge Caravan. I'm sure it will work on other Caravans but I'm not sure which models. It took about 2 hours and I needed very few tools. 10mm Socket, flat tip screw driver, cross tip screw driver, and log curved tip needle nose pliers.

Thanks Robert. I just replaced the radiator on my '05 this weekend. I discovered that just removing the crossmember support that the upper mounts and hood latch connect to makes this job A LOT easier. 2 bolts on the right side, 2 bolts on the left side. Remove the crossmember and it takes the upper mounts and latch with it. This saves time and makes it a lot easier to get the fans and radiator back in place because you can see what you're doing!

Quick tip. Remove the radiator overflow reservoir. This will enable you to move the (left) drivers side of the radiator toward the engine and gives you ample room to take out the radiator without having to put pressure on the condenser lines on the right side.

I've found out that no one should ever purchase a REMAN radiator. They will tend to fail in just a few months. For longer lasting repairs, purchase NEW. Will be replacing radiator for same model this Saturday. Thanks for the insight. Very helpful.

Hey I'm a mechanic. I just did this jobe a few times and I have some advice for u tovmwke it a bit easier. When you removed the hood lock mechanism , instead of removing that, leave it on and remove the big bracket that it sits on instead. 4 bolts 13mm and then you have much more room to play with

the key to this job is getting the radiator out the transmission cooler must be lifter as he mentioned, yet the pins on the bottom of the transmission cooler are tricky, there is a thought that they may be bolted or attached with some clips or boots, yet this lifting while holding the radiator down, then pushing the radiator back toward the engine before releasing and lifting is quite the task thanks for the video -JD

Thanks man this saved me a ton of money. Initially I just bought the radiator but I had to replace the driver's side cooling fan as well. Which turned out to be an easy process once I figured out how to disconnect the fan from the power. Like another poster said I actually removed that top brace with the 13 mil bolts. Im not sure how you got that radiator out of there without doing it, was difficult enough even with that off.

I watched your video to see the area you were working in. I have to replace the A/C condenser, which is in front to the radiator. I'm under the impression I have to remove the front bumper to do this. I can't find any youTube videos yet that show an AC condenser be replaced. So, thanks for making this, replacing the radiator takes so few tools, I'm hoping its the same for the condenser job! :) Lisa R.

Hello Robert. YOu talk about two 10 mm screws/bolts at the 5:38 mark. I do not see these bolts anywhere on my van. Right now my radiator is still connected to the smaller radiator looking thing right in front of it. I"m lost, and ready to take a sledgehammer to my freaking van.

Hey man, those 2 screws in the upper bracket face towards the front of the van. I used a 1/4" drive small ratchet to reach them. I apologize that I didn't notice that my camera did not get a good shot of it.

Robert DIY Thanks for the reply! It's a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. I've found a service port that is apparently for it, right next to the engine. There's a sealed cap on it with no dipstick in it. I just had it serviced but the dealer doesn't drop the pan to clean it or do the filter. I can't believe the manufacturers have taken this away, seems like a pointless idea to me, other than that they want your trans to fail so you take it to them to have it fixed!!!

***Classified*** Toyotas have a full tube inside the drain bolt that Is deemed full at certain temperature ranges while running and drain bolt out. Crazy but I changed my fluid on my 2011 Camry with no dipstick. Car moved much easier after change and saved $7 in gas first week after fluid change.
