My dad was the Project Engineer on the original. This is going to blow his mind when I send him this video. Two issues he had and never solved- Paint wouldn’t stay on the jet a top speed and the tires would melt at top speeds. Not sure he ever solved either issue. Thanks for all the time spent building this. You’re gonna put a big smile on a 90 year old, retired USAF pilot.

Cheyenne Cobble my dad worked on it 1961-1964. We did a little time at Patrick AFB during the “Space Boom”. He decided he missed flying and we spent a few years a Clark AFB in the Philippines so he could fly C-130’s. But the B-70 was his baby.

My dad worked for North American Aviation for 40yrs El Segundo plant, he worked in transportation semi truck driver. He worked till shortly after the XB70 contract collapsed in the late 70s. I remember he was always making runs to Edwards AFB delivering parts for the X15 then the XB70, and he got to attend a test flight one time. But now he is gone at 95 yrs. as of 3-10-2021, he was the best man,and I do miss him. Really enjoyed the video, and what a great build you did, thanks.

Great job!! I know watching the footage that shes a handful. Looks like the decent rate drops off shaply with the slightest change of aoa/power. What a beautiful model. its always been a dream of mine to scratch build a scale valkarie as well. Again kudos on your skills managing that beast... truly making it look easy. Most modelers have no idea the skill involved! I love how this model lives in the high alpha regime...

Just go to see the original at the Air Force Museum three days ago. I’ve been wanting to see it sinceI read about the crash of the second one built in 1966. I think this is the most incredible aircraft ever built and flown. Unbelievable detail in this model and how well it flies!

I also got to meet Brett at our home field event this year in Ohio. At Ejets and Ewarbirds I got to see Brett fly his little yellow bungee launched jet. He is an unbelievable designer. Now I just need to find out more about this Valkyrie!!!!

Many years of RC experience here. The model looks great! Why not turn down the rates on the ailerons so that it looks more realistic in the air, not so twitchy? Flying line of sight is now pretty boring. Put a FPV camera in it and show video from the pilots perspective, much more interesting. Would probably make landing easier as well. I flew big airplanes line of sight for years, finally became totally turned off by it, FPV is so much more fun and realistic.
