@@PG2248CoasterNews If I remember it correctly, Wendell not being awarded the race immediately was intentional. I believe it was the fact that NASCAR knew at the moment the race finished, Wendell had won it. They just didn’t want any trouble with the local crowd, (the south in the late 60’s, can’t say I blame them) so they gave it immediately to whoever was in 2nd and when everyone had cleared out they gave Wendell the check and acknowledged the win like 3 weeks later.

@@PG2248CoasterNews It also took over 50 years for them to reward him his trophy. He won in 1963, and they didn't give him his trophy until a few months ago.

If he does, it'll be a repeat of Kevin Harvick from 2020. A driver who was a top-4 driver all year, only to get screwed out of contention not because he finished badly, but because he finished badly in the wrong races. NASCAR playoffs are a joke.

Except everyone complained in 2019 when Justin Haley won at Daytona and in 2016 when Chris Buscher won at Pocono by staying out and not being competitive all day. Except they were white, so people weren't called racist for not being fans of the wins. That classic double standard

Bubba deserved it. Pretty much avoided a wreck in front of him and a hard charge to the front. Every driver and chief knew the rain was coming so it really was all timing. And its still considered a win forever in NASCAR history

@@lovesvideos247 Hahaha... Every driver knew it was going to rain and they knew that the race was most likely was going to end very soon. Bubba wheeled his car to the front and was in the right place at the right time. Besides, track drying wouldve taken hours, and Talladega has no lights, so there was probably no way the race was gonna get resumed. Bubba deserved the win. Keep crying all you want buddy.

Because the cars run so close together, if one car spins, it can cause a chain reaction that takes out a bunch of cars. I think the biggest crash took out 28 cars at once.

Perhaps whom ever causes the crash or series of crashes would have to pay for all the repairs of all the cars in the crash, that might just create a new mindset Maybe you go get that tire going down etc fixed before it blows up and takes out 5 other cars.

A year and a half late. Sorry Bubs..such a class person who deserves much more than he has. I've never seen a driver with so much bad luck. Nearly every second half, he works his way to the top 10 only to get pushed back by a wreck, car problems or weather. Yes he had the one win shortened by weather, but one day, he'll get that flag for a full race. His luck will change.

Just listen to Almirola's when he finally won a race that wasn't a plate track or rain shortened, he felt he finally earned it. And Bubba earned it according to the rules. Don't know where you got me being mad from, I stated a fact. But Bubba still hasn't apologized for pushing the garage pull issue as a race crime even after it was found to be wrong all the whole time.

This was a win, you get them how you can get them. He survived wrecks, and put his car were it had to be to get the win. There has been alot of great drivers in the past who got rain wins, Earnhardt, Stewart.ect...

A road course sort of levels the stress across the four tires, at superspeedways though, the constant stress on the same areas throughout the track would devastate current rain tires within 10 laps, let alone 20 or 30, particularly with the left-side tires.

Bubba Wallace went up and made a quick block on Brad Keselowski. He was fortunate not to get run over unlike if he would have done that to Dale Earnhardt Sr, who would have 'rattled his cage'(crashed Bubba). Bubba was fortunate. He should thank Brad!

Nascar fans always complain that nascar is killing itself. It's most definitely the fans helping kill nascar, always so hateful and spiteful over every little thing and this race helps prove it. Many drivers have won due to the rain like their beloved Jr but just because it's Bubba it's an issue.

@@skill7266 I hear your opinion, but it is what it is. Weather, crash, punctures…luck is part of racing. Everyone had a heads up on rain in stage 1, so I don’t wanna hear any what aboutisms. Plenty of winners under the same circumstance. And Blame dega for not having lights. He won fair and square.

They could have let rain pass but no they wanted bubba to win the only way he can by the race getting shortened so much for a good finish

well, it gets too dark to race at dega around 5 pm local time, even shorter in the fall, so with half of dega left and more rain on radar, you really think they where going to finish it?

@@SPCWakefield1103 Sunday I said not Monday as yes there was no more rain on radar and BTW 2 hours to dry only 2 miles that is pathetic when the Lemans series can get 12 miles dried enough to slap on rain tires and race in under 2 hours which yes isn't completely dried but pretty dried up and your telling me they can't get the track dried faster then 2 hours but hey nascar has been very pathetic with making the call to postpone or end races at talladega

This is totally a “Regan Smith-Furniture Row,” win. Bubba wins his first (and last) race and it gives 23XI the credibility and resources for them to go out and win a championship with a real driver 5-10 years down the road.
